I was very impressed with how well kept the apartment was - was like new! It was lovely too that there was milk in the fridge, bread and some butter and jam portions on arrival. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We had a superior 3 bed which looked straight into North Bay. Absolutely breath taking. Location is good for facilities and for quick access to the beach.

Will definitely stay here again when we next come to Scarborough.

We visited Scarborough last year and saw the sands apartments, thought they looked lovely, so decided to stay this year. They are situated in an ideal position.
We booked a sea view apartment after looking at all of the publicity materials and liking the views over the sea to the horizon.
When we arrived, however, we had what we decided should be called a 'bay view'. We had a sideways view of the sea and were facing a crazy golf course and a hill, not the horizon as we had imagined. To add insult to injury the road was VERY noisy. This wasn't a problem during the day but was awful at night. Cars and motor bikes roar up and down the road, apparently racing each other from Peasholme park roundabout up the sea front road. We had the choice of baking in the super hot rooms or being kept awake by the noise.
The apartment was beautiful and very well resourced. I would go back to sands but only if I was guaranteed a genuine sea view room. I suggest that you ring up when booking to make sure that you get a front facing room and not a side facing room - not for the quality of the apartment but for a bit of peace and quiet at night.

We've been coming to the Sands for years now and its still a great place to chill and explore the coast.

This side of the bay has lots to do for kids and is only a short walk into the shops or a longer walk down the seafront.

We had a great time and this was the best apartment we've had so far (we stayed in at least 15 now.)

Just a few call outs;
booking the bigger apartments I'd expect 2 parking spaces, we were told none were free so paid for parking even thought many spaces were empty for days.

The loaf of bread is now a locally baked small loaf and was rock hard, Id rather have a shop bought one.

There was no washing up liquid, we asked 3 times for some and ended up buying some.

The apartments are staring to look a little worn now and could do with some repair, before the new apartments open next door if they want to retain the 5 star rating.

The Wifi is patchy and slow, the welcome pack suggests its not for watching movies, its 2017, good wifi and the ability to watch films, upload your photos is expected now.

Loads of people had electric cars in the car park and not charging is provided for them, the car park is perfectly laid out to have 3 pin 13amp sockets fitted and would save a trip to the shopping center for a top up.

Only minor things that could be fixed and would help justify the £5k we spent on a 2 week holiday.

Good Afternoon Harry P,

Thank you for your review we really appreciate your time taken in posting this. In reply to the issues you raised, a number of the car park spaces are privately owned so can give the impression car park spaces are free when we are in fact full. We do try our utmost to get people extra spaces but sometimes it is just not possible on busier days.
The fresh loaf of bread is locally baked in the morning of all arrivals, it does however not last as long as shop bought ones, we do recommend you enjoy it on the first day/morning of your stay.
Apologies on you not receiving your washing up liquid as you will know from previous stays we provide each apartment with a fresh bottle, this issue has been raised to the relevant departments.
The wi-fi can be used to watch movies but as the area is not on fibre (yet) it can just slow down service if multiple units are streaming, hopefully fibre will be available here very soon.
Charging points for cars is being looked into as yes as you mentioned more people are arriving with this type of car.
Again may we offer our apologies if your stay did not live up to your expectations. We do hope to welcome you again soon,
Kind Regards
The Sands Team

Just returned from five days at sands. we went with our daughter and two grandsons and all had a lovely time. Room was very nice and weather wasn't too unkind except for torrential rain on Wednesday which made the national news! Wonderful views from room/balcony, lots of room for the boys, convenient for buses into town which the boys loved. Staff very friendly and helpful. Welcome pack very useful. Five minutes away from Sainsbury's and tesco supermarkets. Excellent for proximity to beach. Secure car park. Inside apartment very quiet, obviously traffic noise when sat on balcony but wouldn't expect anything else. Will definitely return. One small moan. My grandson left behind his fluffy toy in the reception when we checked out. Luckily someone handed it in and the staff are going to post if on to us but at a cost of £10. This is more than the toy cost but my grandson is upset so obviously we will pay it. I do realise that there must be lots of items left behind so would cost a fortune to return them all. Just seems a trifle high. Otherwise excellent stay. Thank you.

Room Tip: Sea views are absolutely wonderful.

It was great to read your review, and thank you for taking the time to write it.

The Team are delighted they impressed you so and that you are looking forward to your next visit, so are we.

On booking do be sure to keep an eye on our website for details of our latest special promotions, and remember by booking with us directly you’ll be sure to receive the best available rates and service.

We do indeed have a lot of items left behind by mistake and this is just a set charge we have to cover staff, postage costs and time spent retrieving, packaging and driving to the local post office to send out items.

With Kind Regards

The Sands Team
