Owner description: Situated in sixteen acres of historic walled and landscaped gardens, Wentworth Garden Centre is arguably the biggest and most attractive centre in the North Midlands. Its setting, in the former Kitchen, Italian and Japanese gardens of Wentworth Woodhouse is unique. We are not a member of any buying group or garden centre chain. We are a long standing, family owned independent and as such care passionately about our customers and their satisfaction. It's a policy that has seen the centre evolve from a tiny village operation into one of the largest garden centres in Yorkshire today.

This garden centre is situated in part of the Wentworth Woodhouse Estate Gardens. This makes a very good stop off before the tour of the actual grand house. The Garden Centre boasts a bustling but efficient 250 seat cafe. Cakes, snacks, drinks and a very good hot meal menu with reasonable prices. Specials of the day all looked very good. Salad, new potatoes and quiche was excellent; super pastry, no soggy bottoms here. The sun came out and allowed us to walk around the landscaped gardens, a very enjoyable interlude. Plants and stock in the Garden Centre all looked well maintained. Huge car park. All in all a very clean and well run Garden Centre.

I visited here with my friend and her two young children. The older of the two children loved the farmyard and the park. We enjoyed handling the chicks but it was very busy and there should’ve been more staff on as there was quite a wait.

In the cafe it was very busy. They would benefit from having people show you where to sit in busy times to keep some order and stop people wandering about. I had a sandwich and a piece of cake. I found t quite expensive for what was distinctly average food. My friend had quiche which came with salad and potatoes that she enjoyed.

The garden centre and shop is lovely, lots of choice and not a bad price.

I’ve given it 4 stars for the setting, great disabled access and reasonably priced garden centre. More staff in the farm and cafe at busy times and cheaper food would’ve got Wentworth 5 stars. All in all we enjoyed our day.

Wentworth garden centre has just about everything you could possibly need for your garden, A little pricey but good quality, It also has gift shops and gardens to view and play areas for children some of the areas you have to pay to enter and i dont think that is fair after all its not a stately home !!! Nice large bright eating place lots of tables good menu but yet again on the pricey side, Hot roast pork sandwich, stuffing, apple sauce, handful of chips small pot of gravy. £7.50 But must admit it was very nice just over priced

This is a brilliant garden centre with all the items you require from plants/tools/planters/ornaments etc.please check their web site for all products available. The CAR PARK is very large with limited disabled parking which appears to be in the process of being updated.Be careful when exiting the car park as visibility is a bit difficult. My wife and I were looking for Planters and after selecting the ones which we required which were located a fair distance from the cash desk the most helpful staff gladly took my wife to their location while I went to the car the member of staff then placed 3 large planters in the rear and ensured that they would not get damaged during transport of some 20 miles back to my home.We also took advantage of the onsite CAFE which is extremely clean with a vast variety of food both hot and cold.Although the queue of people waiting to be served was quite long it did not take the staff a great deal of time for our order to be taken.Getting seated was no problem as the cafe is large and IF THE BRITISH WEATHER ALLOWS SEATING IS AVAILABLE OUTSIDE.I had the FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST and my wife had the VEGETARIAN OPTION,and although poached eggs are not on the menu the friendly staff were only too pleased to accommodate her wishes. The toast was fresh bread not a slice of cut bread served with butter. After eating well presented food of excellent value and tasted wonderful I took the opportunity to enquire with the waitress if the produce was locally sourced and she informed me that it was, and that pastries cakes etc were all made by the on site staff.
Take time out and visit this garden centre, were friendly/knowledgeable staff are available to assist you in what ever you require.
