What a lovely hotel. The staff are very helpful, friendly and very smartly dressed. The spa was lovely and clean but the steam room wasn't working. The spa was real treat. Buffet breakfast was lovely but not hot enough. At breakfast there was a hot and cold option. The hotel is beautiful and the room was lovely with tv and dvd and ensuite. The town was a 15 minute walk away from the hotel. Should be a 4* instead of a 3*

We was a party of 15 who booked on the 6th January for the all inclusive. This included a 3 course meal with free drinks from the bar 8pm to midnight also on the tables was bottles of red and white Ecco Falls wine which they replenished at the bar when empty. There was a choice of 3 starters/mains/desserts,all food was plentiful and excellent. My husband and i had Pate/Prawn cocktail which was both excellent.Turkey for the main which came with roast potatoes and vegetables and for dessert Baileys cheesecake.Coffee and a piece of fudge to finish. All this for £35 PP. was an excellent night with good music. All the staff was very pleasant and worked hard.

We've done new Years Eve at this hotel a few times before but this year was a real let down, absolutely not worth the high price for the meal and room. (£238 for 2 of us)
The meal itself was ok. It took over 3 hours though and we had a massive gap of nearly an hour inbetween our 3rd and 4th course which was excessive. The main course I enjoyed but then i love rare beef, it you didnt Im sure the blood on your plate would have turned your stomach!!
My husband said everytime he went to the bar (for the exact same round of drinks) it was a different price!!
The disco didnt start until almost 11pm which was too late. The DJ was awful, stuck in a time warp playing nothing past the 80's, mix it up for goodness sake!! Midnight was rubbish as well. In the past they projected big ben onto the wall (from the TV) and the countdown was great, nothing like that this year just the DJ counting down and it was all rather an anti climax. at 12.30 when the music had not improved, (still nothing past the 80's) we left to sit in the lobby area with the hope that the other room was playing better music and we could go in there.....they wernt.
By 1pm we'd had enough and went to bed.
We have young children and this is a rare night out for us, we absolutey did not expect to be in bed on new years eve by 1pm. Oh, and then there was the hug argument in another room on our floor at 4am which woke everyone up. Not the hotels fault I know just added to our already non memorable night!!

We wont be returning for New year again.

I must have been to a different hotel to the previous reviewers. My wife myself and two family members attended the new years eve party. On arrival we were allocated our rooms early and then used the hotels spa facilities to chill out before having drinks in the bar. After a rest in our rooms we came down for the reception and received canapes and kir royal. Although the kir royal soon ran out the canapes were plentiful. The event was staged in several rooms all of which were well decked out with the usual trimmings. Most of the waitresses seemed inexperienced but did a fantastic job of serving. the food was very good for an event of this size and my steak was superb. We overheard a few people complaining so my wife asked to speak with the manager. When he came to see what the problem was we told him how much we had enjoyed the meal and how well the staff had done. After the meal we danced away to the disco till 3.00am before retiring to bed. Breakfast next morning was good and all our party said how much we had enjoyed the evening. To all the people who were so negative try somewhere else next year although you will probably look to find fault again.

We have been to many a new years eve do at Carlton Park but this was the worst and we wont be back. The place was packed to the rafters, the staff inexperienced and the bar staff couldn't decided what to charge for drinks. There was an awful smell in the main bar, the décor looks tired and grubby and the food was shocking. We were home by 11.30. Awful piped music over and over was irritating to say the least and the proper music didn't come on until 11pm.
