We stayed here as a family for a wedding, the entrance, venue and rooms are all beautiful and cannot be faulted, however old, the charm and character are wonderful. Thus the good points end.
We all found the master of ceremony’s for the wedding rude, pushy and aggressive. It just wasn’t nessecary, the wedding breakfast was held in a marque on a snowy day, beautiful but when their portable heaters weren’t turned on at the right time not so (claiming they were broke, when they turned them on they worked). So we had bride groom and 60odd guests eating very mediocre food in outdoor jackets. The other thing that REALLY bugs me is business taking advantage of captive audiences, nearly £9 for a very small house white wine is simply taking the mick!!! And all there agreed that, it’s Sutton coalfield not Vegas. Such a shame when the place is so beautiful, never again.More
