We went to Suffolk, a county we had not previously visited, for a short (3 nights) break. The Belstead Brook appeared to be good value at £175 for the 3 nights. Reception was painless and we were allocated a Garden Room. This was a short walk from reception with car parking within 20 metres of the door. The room was large and contained a table and 2 chairs as well as the king sized bed. Admittedly the room would have benefitted from a refurb, but it was well within acceptable standards. Unusually and, for me welcomely, there was a bath as well as a shower. The bonus with the room was the 8 foot patio door leading out onto a private paved and lawned area with outdoor seating and tables.Unfortunately there was no outdoor lighting, but this was, presumably deliberately to reduce noise in the evenings.
We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was good and reasonably priced. On the other nights, simply for a change, we took a Taxi into Ipswich (£5 each way) where a wide range of cuisines was available at reasonable City prices.
Cleanliness was good and we had no complaints with the service we received. Any queries were dealt with quickly and efficiently.More
