Owner description: Our award-winning farm shop & deli is overflowing with lovely produce. You will find our own highland beef, free-range eggs and award-winning fruit ice cream as well as locally produced food and pick your own fruit and vegetables in season. There's lots going on - why not browse the craft shops or visit our play area and farm animals? Our Farm Nature Trail is very popular too, but make sure you bring your wellies!

The plant section was suffering from extreme neglect. The plants had not been watered for days. All drooping and going brown. Poor management.
All concession shops closed on Mondays. No information regarding this on the website.
Cafe nearly empty but told no tables were available as they were all booked for later in the day. Managed to convince them to let us have a table but told meals would take at least 30 mins to prepare as they would give priority to booked tables. Meals when eventually delivered were inedible. Ciabatta rolls were so had they were inedible. Side salad was all brown and shrivelled. Re ordered side salad. Same standard of replacement salad provided. Returned whole meal. Replaced with simple sandwich order. Order arrived with bread nearly an inch thick on both slices. Unable to open mouth wide enough to eat it. Gave up and went home.

Restaurant was nice and clean, had coffee and cake which was very tasty, nice size portions too, we sat on a table for two but felt there was plenty of space around us, didn’t feel cramped in any way, nice selection of home made cakes and scones, well worth a visit

Lovely relaxed Father's Day meal. Our food was tasty, piping hot and plentiful. Waitresses were lovely but could have been more attentive during the meal (for example by asking if we would like more drinks). Excellent facilities for children.

Ventured here after it was recommended but over all was a bit disappointed. Although they were quite accommodating trying to make me a tea latte, the overall impression was that I should have booked and that 'drop in' customers through them off stride. I was 'seated' on a large table so that I would 'share' the table if they got busy, in spite of their being plenty of other tables available which may or may not have been booked. After bringing me my tea, I was totally ignored and not offered a menu.
Had a quick look around the shop and other craft areas but there was nothing I cannot find at my local farm cafe. Oh, and one other plus, the toilets were clean with lots of room in the mother and child/wheelchair stall.

After a lovely walk round Needham Lake with our grandsons and Harry the cockapoo, we decided to give them a treat by extending the walk to Alder Carr Farm.
Beautiful sunny bank holiday Sunday but only four outside tables and all occupied. Can’t go inside with the dog so can’t serve you. Loads of space in the courtyard and plenty of empty tables inside and four staff behind the counter doing very little.
All it would have taken to serve us would have been a positive attitude to customer service. In the time it took to tell me about health and safety restrictions preventing us being served at the bench in the centre of the courtyard, they could have brought a table outside. We certainly won’t bother again
What a difference on Monday when we went to Hollow Trees at Semer. Brilliant 5 stars
