Just returned from 5days at Chatsworth House. Situated on the north shore with good views over sea front. Had a large room on 3 rd floor but a small bathroom sea view. Breakfast self selection plenty of choice. Evening meal good size meals with choices of a meat, fish, salad,or veggie. A entertainer every night.
A good value break.

Hello there, I have a blue badge as I have mobility problems, where would you suggest park? Answer, anywhere outside hotel Sir! Oh ok, I went outside, made sure my badge was displayed right. Next minute I was given a ticket, prob many of thousands that day, very busy weekend. When I asked why, I’d just arrived, your in a coach bay, explained hotel stated anywhere outside sir, you can see blue badges, but not the coach one. So I blame hotel, they can’t tell me they’d come out with that statement and not know you can get a ticket.
Upto now it’s costing me £75 .....

When I told the Hotel I’d been given the wrong information
Oh no sir my son wouldn’t do that ( so at this point I’m being called a liar, for someone who was governed by the official secrets Act, this does not go down well, I’ve never lied in my career, so now I’ll tell you in return, they won’t help me out just by giving a receipt from the hotel to say we logged in at reception. Then they don’t keep details, then why get us to sign something?.. do you instantly throw it away...

Anyway I’m going to make a good reference for anyone staying here, or thinking of staying....

My first, You might just be called a liar, the younger lad at reception told me anywhere in front of hotel with blue badge, I didn’t make this up, I do not lie.....not even over parking offences....

First impressions, give the outside a clean and sort out the seating areas. The first impression always counts.
The carpets say it all, faded grandeur. The rooms may have been recently decorated, just not the one we stayed in. There was a crack in the shower panel, the table was losing its veneer. Saying that, the pool looked like it was from a different hotel. Very nice with mock marble Roman statues. Shame they didn't spend the money on the things that count, like carpet and chairs. Can't say we will go there again.oh, the breakfast was good, hot food and plenty of it. Not much variation of you don't like cooked breakfasts, just alpen and Weetabix.

Some of the reviews I have seen for this hotel do not give the credit it deserves, yes I admit that in some areas it does need a bit of TLC, but then show me a hotel that is not looking a bit worse for wear in places. Come on you are not paying an exorbitant price, it is not the Hilton. We stayed for three nights and found the hotel comfortable and welcoming and the good food and excellent service cuts through any of its faults, it’s staff are pleasant and helpful, so don’t be put off by bad reviews, let’s face it in this day and age you get what you pay for. As far as I am concerned it was good value at a reasonable price.

Room tip: First floor at front for stunning sea views.
