“superb break.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2012

we booked a champagne break over a weekend, we booked balcony room. on arrival we had a warm and friendly welcome at reception, very efficient, our room was on the top floor but has a lift so no need to worry about stairs, the room was so spacious, it had a very big bathroom which was very bright and clean with free toiletries, there was lots of storage space in the room with drawers and wardrobe, it even had an iron, hairdryer also, tea abd coffee, bisciuts, complementary water, there was a couple of steps up to a sitting room with a dressing table and a table and 4 chairs, our champagne was waiting for us on ice and was really loveley, also we had a presentation box ot the hotels own chocolates, outside on the balcony we had superb views over llandudno, the balcony was quite spacious and had a bistro table and chairs set. the bed was king size and the bedding was very comfortable, we had a tv of course and complementary slippers which had the hotel name on.
the service and quality of food at the imperial was impecable, although the dining room is large you are not kept waiting, it has a the old fashioned feel to it but excellent standards, my only criticism would be that there seem to be a lot of staff who work there in the restaurant and bar to whom english is not their first language and this did cause some communication problems at times which were sorted out very efficiently by the other staff,i do think they need to address this. the hotel also has a fitness centre and pool and is close to the shops, theatre, pier. we loved our stay would stay there again.

Room Tip: ask for a room at the front with a sea view, also the balcony rooms are fab.

I spent a couple of rainy days in Llandudno with my octogenarian mother and teenage daughter. All three generations had a restorative and relaxing time, were looked after attentively by hotel staff and could certainly have stayed a couple more days without much persuasion. This is a traditional family hotel at its best; not in the least pretentious but everything from rooms, to restaurant, to lounge facilities presented to a very high standard. The spa/pool is, perhaps, a little limited but good enough for a spot of exercise if the weather prevents much walking. The hotel is in a great location, with a lovely sea view (worth paying extra for rooms at the front), and a couple of minutes walk to the town centre. Highly recommended.

Room 517, Top Floor Sea Facing.
Dealt with a lovely receptionist named Harriet when booking and subsequently on arrival, who was always very helpful with a lovely sense of humour.
Room was nice with a balcony which overlooked the promenade. The lunches Haddock and Chips were equisite and the fish was good enough to die for.. Evenings meals were spent out eating at various establishments, one in particular was Valentino's which was, as to be expected, very tasty and enjoyable.
The only real downside of our 3 night stay was the service we received at breakfast. Although the waiters/waitresses were continually scurrying around they didn't appear to be awfully efficient and, at times, needed to be asked three times to provide us with more coffee. Organisation on the restaurant floor seemed highly haphazard and poor.
This said, overall the stay at the hotel was reasonable and there is no doubt that we shall return again. Hopefully then the restaurant will appear more organised.

Room Tip: Ask for Room 420 if you can, it's a gem.

Been back a week from our trip to Llandudno, and I still keep wishing we were there! The Imperial Hotel did not disappoint in any way; lovely, spacious sea-view room for two nights, fish and chip lunch in the sun terrace on arrival, and a superb meal in the restaurant on the second evening. Breakfasts were lovely and very substantial - my husband treated himself to his favourite (kippers) both mornings. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and it was a really pleasure to relax to the live music in the bar both evenings, after our long, bracing walks in the sea air and sunshine. No Robbie Williams tribute acts here, though - we enjoyed a pianist on the Thursday evening, and a harpist on the Friday. Slept like a log both nights, which is quite something, as I normally find it almost impossible to get to sleep in hotels. Big, comfortable bed and the gentle lapping of waves just over the road must have had something to do with that. Can't wait to repeat the experience!

I booked this hotel as a last minute booking as we were in Llandudno for a trip to the Theatre and decided to stay over night. Upon arrival we were luck enough to find a parking space right outside the hotel but this was out of season and I suspect although there is a little bit of parking with the Hotel this could be a problem in season but one I would attach to all the hotels here.
Booking in was a simple and pleasant experience although as I have found in so many hotels the blasted Key cards for the rooms don't always work but on the return trip to reception we were issued with three cards which solved that problem.
The room was very pleasant, roomy and a very comfortable bed. All the addtions in the room were very nice - some ty nant water and welsh products or eco friendly products throughout. The bathroom was very spacious, a little old fashioned but in keeping probably with the hotel. Whilst not 'grimy' I did feel that a little more attention could have been paid to the cleaning of the bathroom. I am over six foot and probably do see on top of more things than most but do feel that a wipe with a wet cloth can solve so many things.
Breakfast was very good. There was a cereal bar with juices, fruit and the usual with table service for tea, coffee toast and a freshly cooked breakfast. We did not however have the breakfast situation explained to us and had to ask a fellow diner about getting cereal. I would also have liked a slightly larger breakfast, one sausage, one bacon and one egg did not keep me going all day unlike other hotels where I have had larger breakfasts. However it was all fresh and local and very nice.
Overall a nice hotel, old style but not old fashioned, lovely and clean, nice food and a stunning view out to sea for breakfast if you manage to get a window seat.
