“A fantastic hotel and will be staying in 2012”
Reviewed 9 August 2011

The room was clean and a nice view of the pier and beach, a cosy bright room.

A lovely resort with plenty to do and interesting things to do on the pier. We also went on the railway up to Great Orme. We found a lovely park nearby to walk in.

The food is really good and a varied menu, can always find something to eat even for a fussy person like my husband. The staff are very nice and seem to take pride in the service they provide.

I can't think of anything bad about the place. We went with a coach party and the staff welcomed us with a cuppa. We are already booked to go again next February 2012.

I would recommend this hotel to anybody.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view.

Friends and I recently stayed at The Marlborough Hotel we received a warm welcome on arrival, we were very happy with the standards of the hotel and the food was exceptional.
During my stay I had a bad fall whilst out for the day, I badly hurt my hands and feet and was severely bruised and as an older lady was in shock by the whole experience.
When we returned to the hotel the owner Mrs Murphy was there instantly to make sure I was ok, and personally took me to the hospital to make sure that I was checked over properly. Mrs Murphy and her staff went above and beyond the call of duty and I would just like to say a big Thank you as I appreciate everything they did for me during my lovely stay. Lil.

Mrs Murphy said to pass on her regards, and wanted to say thank you for your comments, and we hope all the bruises healed, and you are fighting fit again, and ready for another holiday!

went for a 3 night break with my mum and husband. John and Jean Murphy and their staff pull out all the stops to ensure their guests enjoy their stay. The entire hotel was comfortable and spotlessly clean, plus the beds were the comfiest I've slept on away from home. extra's in the bathroom plus lovely soft bathrobes. The bar was better stocked than any I've seen. The food was delicious and plenty of variety, with table service second to none. Each night gave superb entertainment, encouraging the other guests, mainly from the Forest of Dean to join in with gusto giving a lovely party atmosphere. A lift enabled less mobile guests to move freely between floors. Although frowned upon some folk do still smoke, provision is made for us that does not encroach on non smokers. well done for not making us feel like outcasts. When booking this break we thought we may be late arriving due to work commitments, from the start every effort was made to accomodate us. This followed all through our stay, nothing was too much trouble. The impression given is that all the staff are happy in their work and enjoy working for Jean and John Murphy. Please never change anything, you have everything spot on. Unreservedly recommended

Room Tip: just make sure your needs are known

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are very pleased to hear you enjoyed the food, service and entertainment provided. I am very sorry that you were not informed that customers were allowed to smoke on the 3rd floor, this is obviously relevant information that should have been made aware to any customers booking a holiday with us, i send my deepest apologies for this error. We hope this wont affect you visiting us again. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future.

Please can i now take this time to inform any guests booking into The Marlborough Hotel, that as of January 2012, we are now a fully NON smoking hotel, due to ongoing refurbishments throughout the hotel, we decided that smoking should no longer be allowed in any part of the hotel, or the bedrooms.
