One night stopover whilst attending a retirement function in the town.

Was accommodated in a nicely appointed spacious room that sleeps up to three, so had more than enough space for myself. It appeared to have been relatively recently refurbished, so was in excellent condition. All the facilities you'd expect including tea/coffee making facilities and decent sized TV. As other reviews have mentioned, the road outside can get quite busy, but I did not find traffic noise too much of a problem, and the comfortable bed was nice to sink into at the end of the day.

Breakfast is served in a pleasant, bright room, with full English cooked to order if required. There is a small bar downstairs which I did not use, but it looked a nice place to relax in during the evening. This establishment does not serve evening meals, but the owners will recommend local venues.

I was travelling by train, but noted that there seemed to be adequate parking space in front of the building. You could walk from the station in about 15/20 minutes, otherwise take a taxi or bus - there is a bus stop no more than a couple of minutes from Camelot Lodge. The surrounding area consists mainly of mature properties of a similar style, you could describe it as "leafy suburbs".

A couple of bedrooms were being refurbished, although no work was going on whilst I was there, it being a weekend. I can't imagine this would be very disruptive for guests as they would probably be out during the day. I mention this more to highlight how the owners are keen to maintain their high standards by upgrading facilities where appropriate. The standard of housekeeping is very good.

If you need to be right on the seafront this isn't the place for you, but if you don't mind that (it's not difficult to reach either the front or the main shopping areas) and prefer a less hectic location, this family run property will fit the bill. Certainly good value for the quality provided, happy to recommend and to return myself should I visit the area again.

This family run guest house is ideal for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Eastbourne. It`s not too far from the seafront and has its own parking area. The breakfasts are hearty and served in a friendly atmosphere.

Room Tip: traffic noise could be a problem for rooms facing main road.

So good I didn't want to tell anyone about it as I wanted to keep it to myself, though Dee and Kevin have made such an amazingly nice place to stay they deserve every bit of credit.

There are 5* hotels that could learn more than a few things from them. The rooms actually feel like bedrooms, not hotel rooms, there's a lovely lounge to relax in and the breakfast is simply delightful.

They have combined ask the best bits of big name hotels, such as nice miniature toiletries, etc with all the personal touches of a small B&B.

On top of that it's only a 15 minute walk to the seafront and shops, though I believe there is a bus that stops nearby.

A truly wonderful place to stay, we will definitely be back.

We had a nice night in July 2014 here.
They had wonderful service and recommended a really good indian restaurant.
The room was very nice and clean, wonderfully furnished with a rather large bathroom. We had a wonderful breakfast.
They have their own parking right in front of the house.
