stay here one night and you wont fail to be impressed. The hotel from the outside looks like many in the area, however enter the front door and it is very impressive. The price is not too bad either. Location a couple of minutes walk to the front. The town itself is only 5 minutes walk with lots of shops and restaurants. The rooms in the hotel are comfortable with all facilities, but the lounges are impressive, the hotel describes itself as a gallery hotel and it is just that. Interesting art on all the walls. The breakfast, as for any hotel was good, however it did come hot because it was cooked fresh. Have a look if ever you are in Easrbourn, i would go back.

So pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us even though it was only for one night. As you say, we are conveniently situated for the sea front and the town centre as well as being in the middle of the cultural centre…three theatres and an art gallery. Glad you liked the breakfast which we always cook to order rather than leaving under a heater in the breakfast room. We hope we will see you again sometime soon ... maybe for a few more nights!

My partner and I , along with his brother, brothers partner and baby went for a long weekend away and stayed at Da Vinci Eastbourne just off the sea front. Upon arrival we were all welcomed and greeted by a lovely chap names Roshan. This was very comforting as he said if we needed anything he would be more than willing to help us. He was excellent through out the stay !! A parking permit was given so we didn't need to worry about moving the car or paying and displaying... Rooms were lovely, clean and had everything needed such as ironing, tea, hairdryer, long mirror ... even a nice big flat screen tv !! All staff were friendly and housekeeping were consistent making our room cleaner than before ! Breakfast each day was superb and even had baby facilities for the little one. Restaurant recommendations were very helpful from Paul and Roshan and even got a discount of the bill for staying with Da Vinci !! Would highly recommed to any one for a short or even a long stay. Have already booked another weekend away during summer here. Absolutely fantastic, can not fault one bit. Thank you

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay at the da Vinci and I was pleased to hear that you were well looked after during your stay. Roshan, our front of house manager, is a real treasure and I know our guests are in good hands when he is on duty. Pleased to hear that housekeeping are doing their job well and that you enjoyed the breakfast as well. We are always happy to recommend restaurants and have even negotiated some reductions at a few places. Looking forward to your next stay with us.

We had a very comfortable stay here - our room was large, with a sitting area and a nice bathroom. Large windows with a diagonal view of the sea. Very good value and nice to be in this quiet area of Eastbourne, near the sea, the wonderful Towner art gallery and the restaurants in Carlisle Road just around the corner - an especially good Italian restaurant and a very nice traditional fish and chip shop. This wasn't a holiday, but we found the hotel a very welcoming place to come back to and to relax in at the end of some long days.

Thank you very much for your review and your kind comments. You certainly seem to have made the best of your stay. There are some lovely restaurants in Carlisle Road especially the fish and the Thai restaurants. The Towner Art Gallery is always worth a visit and we love the coffee shop on the top floor. We hope we will be able to welcome you back again soon …there is always plenty going on here.

I stayed here on my own last year and thought it was quite a nice hotel just off the seafront, needed to be in eastbourne with the wife so decided to book a double room and re visit, room 105 was a nice room, as another reviewer said, the pillows are a bit on the flat side, the heating was fine as the weather has been mild for this time of year. My only real gripe is that I think it's understaffed, We were greeted by a nice helpful guy and he was again there next morning to cook breakfast and check people out but my breakfast was delivered in 2 parts as I think half way throught cooking he had to check another customer out, leaving me and my wife with eggs that were hard and overcooked. Maybe i should have said something at the time but I was off to a funeral and really did'nt feel i should have to. We could have booked another local hotel with many staff for a similar price so I guess thats what I will have to do next time which is a great shame as I liked the hotel before as it was small and quiet. Maybe one to cook and one to be on reception is a good idea rather than just at weekends when it might be busier as the guy told me. My rating is based sadly on the lack of staff, 1 man is not enough

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel and I am sorry that you found the hotel "sadly disappointing". Regarding your comments, I have asked the housekeeper to replace all of the flat pillows and judging by the amount bought I think she has done a good job. Whilst refurbishing the hotel we removed all of the convector heaters as they were expensive and inefficient. We have heaters for all rooms but remove them in the warmer weather.

Finally, regarding staffing, I spoke to the manager who told me that he was on his own as two staff failed to turn up…in fact one hasn’t been since and the other was unwell. In such circumstances, we normally call on the other staff or else the other manager to come in on his day off. Roshan tells me that there were so few guests he did not think this necessary but he understand, as you point out, that one person is not enough.
