“Expensive and runned down, but very central”
Reviewed 18 June 2012

Best thing about this hotel is the location. You almost can't get a more central hotel. Also, I didn't find this hotel so noisy as other reviewers have said. (And I stayed in the worst "Russetid" in May where all the high school grads are out celebrating)

But I had to pay almost 3500 kroner for two nights in this dump, where there had been a leek in the ceiling in my room, the sofa was very old (I tried to cover it up with one of the towels because I didn't want to sit directly in it) and there was no amenities whatsoever in the bathroom (not even hand soap).

Breakfast was ok - but ran out of coffee

If I had payed any less, I would have given it a better review. But 3500 NOK for two nights is just robbery at broad daylight and taking too much advantage of the high hotel demand in Stavanger

Nice, clean room, good breakfast. But in summer, the rooms at the back can get extremely warm. Then again, windows opens wide, and there's a fan in the cupboard. As for the environmental profile, it's only for show. Paid 80 euro, nice price.

Well placed hotel from the point of view of visiting places. Right in the centre of things, but not noisy at all (contrary to other reviews). Within an easy walking distance of the old part of town and harbour side. It is not an "expensive" hotel for Norway, so you could not expect luxury at this price.
The single rooms are small, but it was pretty clean (although the carpet has seen better days!). The bathroom was very clean and the water takes an age to get hot in the shower - you need to turn in on and then leave it about 5 minutes!
There is a distinct lack of electrical sockets and the lighting in the rooms is dreadful. The bathroom has good lights and mirrors but the plug socket is located in a corner above the sink until and was a stretch for me at 5'5" - my shorted colleague had to get the chair to stand on!
The TV is humongous - I reckon they got a deal as it is almost a big as the single bed! but enough channels.
Breakfast was really good - I had gone in with some trepidation, but there was a great choice of hot and cold food, fresh bread and all the usual continental delights. Hot eggs, bacon, sausages, etc.
I must compliment the staff who were extremely helpful and polite to a fault.
Good to be able to use the room until 6pm on a Sunday.

The first thing is that there is an everplaying hotel-radio sounding at the very moment you get into the hotel. It's loud and the music is noisy. This is nothing but pollution! Strange as the owner of the hotel chain is known for his engagement in environmental issues. That is why the breakfast is entirely ecological.....
The rooms are narrow, appearing quite shabby....
Breakfast is fairly good, but you have to live with both the horrible hotel-radio AND the television set.....
Do I like to go back? Hardly.....

Room Tip: Use another hotel.....

Old and small rooms with carpets you do not want to take your socks off on, uncomfortable bed, No restaurant, no parking agreement.

All in all a simple hotel in the middle of Stavanger, and that would be great if the price actually reflected that. Cheap in the weekends, but steep in the weekdays.

+ free coffee.
