You're not going to stay cheap in Bergen unless you're couch surfing with friends, so given that you're going to spend between $65 and $300 per night anyway, Citybox Bergen becomes an interesting choice. We stayed in the second tier up from the smallest room for two, and it was plenty big. The bed was really big by Scandinavian standards. Yes, the room and the bathroom were tight, but would I have paid $40 more for a room down the street for an extra three feet of space for a few hours? No. The staff was helpful, and it's a good location for many common destinations within walking distance. Was quiet. Comfortable bed. Very clean. Responsive thermostat.
