The best description for Magic Hotel Xhibition is strange. I booked a large room, and it was spacious. At the same time it was very unpractical. In order to plug my laptop to the wall, I had to leave the desk lamp with no electricity. There wasn't and shower door or cover, so the whole bathroom floor was wet. The entrance might be the least cozy entrance I have experienced in a hotel. Also, anyone can access the room areas. One positive thing; I likes the bed.

This was a good choice for a long weekend in Bergen. It is bare bones and that is reflected in the price.

I was a little bit apprehensive after reading about the disco on the fourth floor. So when I checked in I asked for a quiet room and no disco noise.

Room 605 was perfect Yes it is a little small. And the bathroom is very compact.

If we had big suitcases it might have been a problem, But we didn't. We had small carry ons.

The front desk staff answered all our questions and showed us places we asked about on the map,

We found plenty of places to get a coffee and a sweet roll at breakfast so not having a breakfast place was not a big deal

We had four sunny days....Quite unusual for Bergen where it rains 266 days a year on average.

The hotel has bright and modern decor and is situated in central Bergen (only a 10 minute walk to Bryggen). The reception was difficult to find as it is part of a cafe/bar in the shopping centre. The room and bathroom were very small but clean. It would be nice to have a kettle in the room.

Dear Lauren B,

Thank you very much for your nice review of our new-opened hotel. We appreciate your comments regarding our bright and modern rooms, and of course our perfect location.

I am sorry you had difficulties finding us in the shopping center, we are very close to receive our signs which will make it very clear that the reception is what it is. We will also have better signs throughout the center in order for our guests to easier find us.

We hope to see you again soon, and welcome you back to Bergen and Magic Hotels!

Yours sincerely,
Magic Hotel Bergen

Our late arrival, 1am in morning due to flight delays was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Fortunately we were shown to our room otherwise we might still be looking for it. It was very modern, clean but "miniscule" with nowhere to put your clothes. The wardrobe was an alcove 600mm wide with a rail and 4 hangers. Our clothes spent the 6 days we stayed in there cases on floor. Unfortunately our visit coincided with "Freshers" week at the University of Bergen and we had two sleepless nights due the the nightclub. However we can't really complain as the nightclub preceded the hotel but we did ask if the bass could be reduced.

The hotel is centrally based within a shopping complex near the Fish Market and Bryggen, the old wharf of Bergen. The funicular to Mt Fløyen is nearby and definitely worth a visit weather permitting.

Our visit was purely personal as our latest granddaughter had just been born locally in Bergen. We had our mind other things but the hotel would not be our choice on another visit.

The disco / night club on 4th floor is very noisy until two in the morning. Sounded like it was directly under the my bed in 6th floor. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and we had a nice bathroom. No breakfast included or available in the building.
