Radisson Blu Hotel Nydalen, Oslo

I stayed at the hotel during the weekend as I participated in a conference. Check-in was quick and the receptionist was pleasant. Got to my room and found it very well equipped with all amenities expected, and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very nicely designed. The bathroom was nice (shower only, but some rooms is rumoured to have bathtub as well). There was no view to talk about from the room.

Just across the street is Evo, a fitness center, that hotel guests can use for free.

The conference center had light and well equipped rooms. There were snacks, water (carbonated and still), several types of coffee and everything else you would expect. The staff were very efficient and pleasant. Only hick-up experienced was that all the notes from the day before had been thrown away for all participants despite we had the room the whole weekend.

Food was good. I am a vegetarian and the options given for a non-meat eater was good, but there are hotels round that cater better for vegetarians (was served a plain and not very exciting green salad, spagetti twice and so on that is often done when the kitchen do not have to many vegetarian recipes). One of the other participants had allergies and that was taken very well care of.

This hotel is located about 10 - 15 minutes with the subway from Oslo S (the city center), in a new suburb of Oslo. Right beside there is a small shoppingmall, and its 5 minutes walk to Storo which is the largest shoppingmall in Oslo. There is a pizzarestaurant, bar and eatery and so on in the surroundings. And the hotel also have a restaurant and bar.

I did not pay for the room, but the information I got was that the hotel was relatively inexpensive when taken into account how nice it is.

Would not at all mind to stay here again for a conference. For a visit to Oslo as a tourist I would probably have stayed somewhere with a bit more charm and closer to the city center - unless there was a good offer on this hotel.

There is free, and fast, WiFi available.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a nice view if that is important, they have some with virtually no view.

Did book a cheap standard room here on the club carlson 2 for 1 rate.

Reception was nice, the staff was efficient, polite and professional.

Got a room in 8th floor. The room had a ok size, nice view but is a little old style.

Bathroom was big, but the floor is very slippery when wet and it is easy to slip or fell.
Breakfast was ok, but could be so much better compared to other radisson blu we have stayed at.

The hotel is convenient placed close by the subway, which makes it easy to go to and from downtown. A grocery store is located 3 minutes walk away, and storo shoppingsenter is 5-7 min walk away.

Overall we had a nice stay and would return to stay here again in the future.

I got a great deal on booking this hotel, however to room was cold (I couldn't alter the temperature as the room's thermostat was broken). The room was a good size but too shabby - paint missing from the walls, loo seat was loose and the bathroom's bin didn't have a lid.

The bar area on the ground floor is nice and the food is good, but expensive, even for Norway.

Room Tip: Ask for a modernised room.

We stayed for two nights with our family. Which includes two little kids. We had a big room with enough space. Breakfast is great. Location is a bit outside of the sights but the metro is right below the hotel. There is a little river next to the hotel which is nice to walk past.
