This is very much off the beaten track but well worth the journey. It is three U-Bahn stops further on from the Schonbrunn Palace, and then five minutes' walk. Although the the original garden house has been considerably enlarged since Klimt worked there, the displays give a good idea of what it would have been like for him. The displays are a little static but they will be making some improvements over the next year or so. However, it is still worth visiting now if you love Klimt and his work. Do check the opening times before you head off because it is not open every day.
Although the the area is entirely residential, there is a charming tea shop ( Teenorissimo) on the corner of Wittengasse, on your way. See my separate review for that.
