“Great!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 February 2012

This hotel was just fabulous. Located in the center of the city, you were just a short walk away from the Rathaus, Volksgarten, etc. There was a hideous rundown building in front of the hotel, but that didn't bother us very much, our sightseeing did not include the hotel :)

The service at the front desk was good, called us a cab, gave directions, provided hot water for my medicine, all without a fuss. The room itself was quite large, and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was superbly clean and well laid out. The only problems with the room included a TV that didn't work -- which was fine with us, we didn't travel to Vienna to watch TV(!), and a shower head in the bathroom that was a little old (but clean).

We didn't have breakfast so I cannot comment on that.

Overall, I was thrilled with the room. I am usually not impressed with service and cleanliness at hotels, but this one really had both of that covered, and the complaints I listed here were for the sake of listing something negative: they were really not things that bothered me.

I stayed there on business .

Its clean, comfortable and has free internet. The building itself has some interesting old features ie staircases, paintings and fireplaces which I liked and appears to have been recently renovated

For 100 euro per night it was decent value

So it did me fine for a night and was a short, pleasant walk to the centre

The only downsides were no gym and lack of tea/coffee making facility in the room otherwise it was OK. One tip is to head for Fromme Helene for dinner nearby -very good local Austrian place

We had been in the Mercure Josefshof in August 2010 with a special price offer from Accor Hotel company. The hotel is exellent located, just few steps from the Ring just behind the Rathaus. The metro stop is also very close. The room was really great, very clean and warm, even if not very big. The buffet breakfast was incredibly various and always full of stuff. The service was also very welcome and helpful. We will be back here for sure when in Wien again.

This hotel is an old fashioned one located in the museum quarter. The position is nice but I think 4 stars for this hotel are too much. Old furnitures, few extra services, people working here were not always kind and helpful. It is clean and cheap compared to Wien average and position. I suggest this hotel just if the price is a priority for you and you like old fashioned hotel.

Our family of 2 adults and 4 kids stayed her for 2 nights just before Christmas in 2011. Newly renovated rooms were lovely and comfortable - possibly the most comfortable hotel rooms on our month long European holiday. Breakfast was exceptional, staff quite friendly but very efficient. The only 'fly in the ointment' was a very cranky lady who appeared to be a supervisor of some sort, rampaging around the breakfast room, reprimanding and upsetting the waitstaff (who were very welcoming and appeared to be doing a good job)and generally creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. Otherwise was a nice property to stay in. Location not ideal for us, though as we found it quite difficult on both nights to find cafe or restaurant that was family friendly and within walking distance of the hotel. Good location for Christmas Markets at Rathaus, however.
