My wife and I had thought about going to Bratislava by train, but decided to go there by boat. The hotel we stayed at was just couple blocks away from the ferry terminal. This ferry was fast and comfortable. Yes, it was a bit pricey, but at least it was scenic on the way. We did not regret taking this boat ride.

There are cheaper and slightly faster ways to get from the centre of Vienna to the Historic centre of Bratislava, but this one has STYLE folks, and for children or those retaining any sense of wonder, it is a proper adventure. Two powerful waterjet engines shoot out tons of white spray from the back of the boat as you fly down the lovely Danube. You can buy refreshments at the small bar in the back of the roomy tourist cabin, use the toilets and stroll about on the deck at the rear, to watch the big engines in action. Don't bother booking one of the nine "First Class" seats, as you see slightly less from up there than you would from a window seat or "Best of All".. the front seats of the tourist class cabin itself. The setup of the boat and the seats make it feel like an airline cabin, but if you are expecting attentive staff to give you a safety briefing or guide you to your seat where you can put on a seatbelt, think again. This is a very fast and friendly bus, with a bar. Similarly, if you are expecting to be able to book it quickly and simply online - think again. This service runs between two different countries, so they will need to know a bit more about you than if you were just on a river cruise. All in all though - brilliant experience. Go to the ticket office on the first floor and get your tickets either a few hours or ideally the day before you need to travel. Take some ID, be patient.. then ENJOY. Whee!!!

We took a day trip from Vienna to Old City Bratislava via round trip Twin City Liner, rather than train, because our hotel was just a couple of blocks from the Vienna dock and Old City Bratislava is just a few blocks from the Bratislava dock. So this was much more convenient for us than train.

Book early--when we booked our tickets a week ahead of time, one boat had only two available seats left. The first class seats are those toward the front of the boat or along the sides. They don't cost much more, so we decided they were worth the splurge.

The boat is very clean and comfortable, and the ride is smooth. There is a snack bar with a variety of snacks and beverages. The scenery, while not stunning, is interesting--a lot of vacation cottages as well as a couple of castle ruins and a medieval village.

When you book online, print out your tickets. There should be a separate ticket for each person, each way. Boarding starts about 30 minutes before the boat leaves.

Very scenic, sit back relax, comfortable chairs. Compared to train and bus ,it is slightly expensive but definitely worth it.It has a small café serving refreshments.

There we were, my senior citizens parents and I with a last minute wish for a boat ride from Bratislava to Vienna. Adriana to the rescue! We invested in this journey because of the scenery and experience but I highly recommend it because of staff as Adriana. She kindly provided additional local tips for our last few hours in Bratislava and introduced us to useful apps. *Thank you* for a grand experience, Adriana! Hope TLC keeps you until we return!

We bought 2 tickets to board the ferry from Vienna to Bratislava (70€ for 2 people and that was the cheapest tickets!!) and it was the worst choice.
The ferry was late by more than half an hour and we arrived late by an hour!!
I don't recommend buying the tickets at all
I don't think it's worth it. On the way back we took a bus which was around 4€ each, the bus was on time, it took us an hour and 20 minutes and I would recommend to go with a bus since it's cheaper and quicker.

Got the boat to Vienna, booked in advance and was able to reserve front row seats. Well with it as you get the best views as you sail along.
It was a hot sunny day so going out into the deck was fine.
Took around 90 minutes.
Nice way to enter Vienna.

We did a day trip to Vienna from Bratislava. My complaint would be the waiting dock to board was crowded and offered no seats for elderly persons. Also, the boat was 30 mins late. If you are pressed for time, don't take boat. The return trip via train was quick and efficient and half the price.

We are a family that has booked tickets from Vienna to Bratislava. When we arrive at the ship, they inform us that they have canceled it !!!! The excuse is that the boat does not work and the reality is that at that time they had not sold enough tickets and canceled the trip !!!! This behavior is very unprofessional as a company that offers some services has to comply with them.

Dear Mr. Augustin,

can you please inform us, who gave you the information that the boat wasn´t operating because "they had not sold enough tickets"?
There are 2 Twin CIty Liner boats and from last week until today, just one was operating since the other had a technical problem.
We are very sorry for the inconvinienca caused by this matter but we couldn´t influence it, since there was no boat to do the trip with.
Thank you for your understanding and we are very sorry you believe that the boat was not operating because of the by you above mentioned reason.

Kind regards, Flora Tour team
