“Okay location, Okay rooms, Great food, nice people”

Stayed here for 3 nights while we explored Innsbruck and neighboring areas. Key thing to remember: no AC. Because of the summertime warmth/humidity, we needed to open the windows (no screens, so welcome bugs) and unfortunately had cigarette smoke and lots of road traffic noise (the hotel sits on the main road in Zirl so LOTS of trucks in the early morning). Lots of free, convenient parking (since there is a restaurant and cafe in the hotel also). The rooms are all dark wood panelled, so nice to look at and the view from the streetside rooms is a very nice one of the mountains. The room we had was on the 3rd floor (limited number of rooms up there) which required a lift to the second floor up and then a walk up a flight of stairs. The bathroom was VERY small (I could brush my teeth while using the toilet) and the shower was also tight (good thing we're not tall people, else we couldn't stand in the shower). As it was, it was hard to bend down to wash our feet! Water pressure was a little disappointing, barely enough to wash my hair well. There was bulk soap/shampoo in a container offered, which was okay. The bed was european firm, the pillows were feather pillows and too soft. We struggled with the heat, and noise, and getting comfortable. On the other hand breakfast each morning was good (couple of choices of meat, hard boiled eggs, nice selection of cheeses and pastries, fruit cocktail and whole fruit, yogurt, cereals) whereas dinner was excellent (with accompanying service as well). We walked around the small town, not much to see in Zirl, but its within a minute or so of the highway to Garmisch or Innsbruck so very convenient, or about 50 ft from a bus stop that will take you to into Innsbruck. We calculated the cost of the tickets and compared it with the cost of parking and it was actually cheaper to just go and park in Innsbruck for a few hours than it was for us to all catch the bus.

While I enjoyed the food and the convenient location, its unlikely I'd stay here again during the summer, but would consider it for a fall or winter trip.

Room Tip: No AC, so consider staying away from the streetside rooms to avoid noise during the summer.

A very beautiful hotel, great views ans very friendly staff, the restaurant dinner is quite good and the prices much better than most of europian hotels. The rooms were of good size and the bathrooms were very nice.breakfast was large and of a good variety.juices were actually real and not the water mixed variety that seems to be standard at most hotels in europe. All in all my favourite and i will definately return.

Room Tip: make sure to book the rooms with the mountain view and get up early to take advantage of sunrise

This is a wonderful family-owned four star hotel just ten minutes outside Innsbruck. It has a twenty-four hour front desk, which was very important as we arrived about 10 PM! Not an easy check-in time at most European hotels... We were welcomed with a smile and told that the bar and restaurant were still open if we needed anything. This staff is hugely welcoming and very helpful. They keep all hotel papers and menus in multiple languages... For our purposes, their English is excellent.

But, be aware, there is no air conditioning. It certainly wasn't the hotel's fault that Innsbruck hit a record high temperature during our stay. And while I would not hesitate to return to this property for another stay, I will definitely check the forecast before going.

Breakfast is included... and you can get a great rate booking off Expedia. The breakfast buffet is a standard european continental. Wonderful variety, lots of options, and promptly refilled if something runs out. Their coffee was splendid and they even made hot chocolate for my son without being asked... He loved it as a surprise.

The detail of the interior decoration is worth a look. Don't skip the staircase with it's bronze and cast iron musical details. There is a different instrument worked into the railing on each landing. The stained and painted glass is also completely gorgeous, as are the wood carvings in the rooms. There was clearly a lot of planning put into their last renovation. Even better, there is free parking right out front to make it easy to come and go.

Room Tip: In the summer, ask for a east facing room... the morning sun heats up less than the afternoon. The...

I've stayed here 3 times in the past 4 years. Everytime I'm in the area of Innsbruck, I definately stay here. It's a short distance out of Innsbruck and I since I prefer quiet, not so touristy places, this hotel is perfect. Zirl is a tiny, quiet town that is quite nice to wander around. Hotel Tyrolis looks pretty nice from the outside but as soon as you go through the front doors and see the nice reception area and stairs up to the rooms you are impressed. Nice leather seats in the entrance, cool traditional style wood are in this area that really are beautiful. Wait until you go into the restaurant Maximillian....more traditional style wood that is stunning! The waitresses wear traditional outfits that are so cool to see. Had the continental breakfast which was unlimited and very good. Breads, cheeses, meats, cereals, juices, coffee, milk, etc. Enough to fill you up in the morning and very tasty. You can take he elevators up to the rooms or use the stairs. I used the stairs 1 trip and was blown away by the incredible stain glassed windows in each landing. So beautiful! The rooms that I have stayed in here at Hotel Tyrolis have always been clean and very nice with free wifi. Depending on the room you get, you may get some amazing views as well. Will definately stay here again the next time that I am in the area!

Room Tip: You can ask for a room facing the back of the hotel with stunning views! Had a room facing out fron...

Me and my partner recently returned from a weeks stay at Tyrolis in the pretty area of Zirl and, after months of anticipation, were not disappointed! After seeing the pictures of the outside before our visit we were sure the inside couldn't be as picturesque, but we were wrong, it was beautifully furnished in traditional style wood - the restaurant Maximillian is simply stunning! And the rooms were very nice and to my liking too! They were tidied on a daily basis and were supplied with shampoo, soap, hairdryer, tissues and even a mini sewing kit! The view from our large balcony was amazing. We could not fault the place, the breakfast was lovely, think cold continental, as you might expect, cheeses, cold meats, pates, pickles, breads, jams, honey, boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, many different types of tea and more. There was no limit to what you could have and it was beautiful laid out. The restaurant Maximillian itself was open for food at dinner and tea - we ate there 4 nights out of 6 and the food was of excellent quality each time! The dishes were all traditional and freshly made and there was a lot of choice, even for me as a fussy vegetarian! The staff were quiet yet polite and smiley and the free wi-fi worked for our entire stay. There were plenty of different leaflets of nearby attractions available from the lobby and this was so useful as we weren't too sure where to start when we first arrived. Zirl itself is pretty but quiet, with not a lot happening there but we found it a great base to explore the surrounding areas of Innsbruck and the rest of the Tyrol. I would definitely recommend this hotel, we will definitely be returning in the near furture!
