This hotel lived up to it's reviews. Room was well appointed and the sauna/spa area was very well maintained.
This property does offer breakfast for a surcharge. The front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel is well situated near the Hauptbahnhof and within walking distance of all the sites. December is a great time to go with all the Christmas/Advent Markets. The

Room Tip: Take advantage of the sauna area, very clean with three types of saunas and a steam room.

We arrived from Vienna on a wet and miserable evening to step into the warm, candle scented lobby to be welcomed by a delightful older gentleman who quickly checked us in to a lovely quiet, spacious, well proportioned room away from the street. The first impression is that everything is fresh and spotlessly clean without losing it's charm...there is attention to detail, fresh white towels daily and a Mozart kugel on the pillow... we had a great night's sleep. The buffet style Breakfast had a good selection of cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruits, freshly baked, hams, cheeses and eggs and more.... all regularly replenished by the staff who clearly enjoy taking care of their guests. The restaurant is open until quite late and serves well prepared Austrian cuisine served by attentive unobtrusive friendly staff...it was a lovely place to stay near to the station, yet away from the crowds and ...only a 20 minute leisurely walk through the Mirabel Gardens to the old town.

Room Tip: All rooms are double glazed but quieter rooms for those wanting to open windows, quiet rooms are at...

My Girlfriend and I recently visited Salzburg for a short break to see the Christmas Markets and beautiful architecture Salzburg offered. We weren’t sure on which hotel to book so our choice to stay at ACHAT Plaza Zum Hirschen was mainly guided by Trip Advisor. The hotel is rated as 4 Star which I fully agree with.
Pros – Friendly/Helpful Staff, Large hotel suite, Clean, Fresh towels (provided daily), Free safe in room, very close to bus routes. Short walk from main centre.
Cons – Pillows really poor quality. (only negative I could find)
Tips – Get the bus from the airport rather than taxi. Route 2 and the stop for hotel is called St-Julien-Strasse. The busses run regularly and are easy to use. When returning to the Airport the bus stop is by the bridge on the same side as the hotel. Only other useful tip is get a free map from the hotel reception.
Hope your stay is as nice as ours was,
David...

Fantastic room with a large bathroom. The hotel was extremely close to the main train station which was fantastic as we had lots of luggage. The staff were very friendly and helpful with booking tours etc. This hotel was a short walk from the main centre of Salzburg and close to the main park and gardens. Superb value for money. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Recommend it to everyone.

Three adults stayed together at this hotel for five nights during August. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and we were originally overjoyed to find ourselves not in a triple room but in a small, attic 2-bedroom suite with entrance hall and bathroom. It was in many ways a very nice room, but only one room had a bed; the other had two fold-out chairs which were far too uncomfortable to sleep on. Eventually, I put the cushions from the chairs on the floor and slept on them that way, and that was how I discovered that although the room seemed clean, there was an empty plastic soda bottle from a previous guest under the bed (!).

To be fair, we did not tell the hotel staff how uncomfortable we found the chairs, and they were so nice generally that I really believe that, had we told them, they very well might have found a solution for us.

Breakfast was all we could have wanted, though pricey at 12 euros/person/day. We ate dinner at the downstairs restaurant twice, and they were the best dinners we had in Salzburg.

The street noise below woke us all a couple of times each night - and we're New Yorkers! Admittedly, we had the windows open at night, because the air conditioner didn't work. Once again, we didn't complain, and, again, they might have fixed it if we had.

Location was fine - a pleasant walk or fast bus ride to the old town.

I feel badly about complaining about this hotel, since the staff were so helpful, the meals good, and the overall experience was favorable. If I stayed here again, though, I would ask for a triple room with real beds, and, in summer, would check on the air conditioning before booking.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the quiet courtyard side, with real beds and working AC. Then you should be very h...
