“A little tired.”
Reviewed 22 March 2012

We arrived here with a tour group, rooms good and overall atmosphere was fine.Rooms seemed a little in need of a makeover but were clean and comfortable.Staff were all friendly and courteous.Meals were good, this place ticks all the box's but could be better, seems a little tired.Wi fi expensive but free internet in Lobby if you want to wait your turn.Location seems good although I am no expert in this area.Certainly this Hotel is comfortable, clean and welcoming, with great dining nearby.

Room Tip: Really not sure.

Upon arrival I was upgraded to an executive suite and given complimentary internet access because of my Platinum membership with Priority Club (a must-have for all you travelers out there!). My room was extremely large with sitting area, king-size bed, separate rooms for the bath and toilet, work desk and mini-bar. The bathroom had a hot-tub in it, as well. THe rooms are decorated in a bit of an out-dated fashion, but I suppose it adds to the charm of Salzburg. Unfortunately I could only stay one night, but would have loved a few more days to enjoy the room, the hotel's central location and amenities!

We stayed at the hotel in the beginning of March. We had a kid of 4 years old and upon check in they gave us a double room with extra bed for the kid no special charge. The rom was very clean with all neccesary amenities. The breakfast was perfect. The location was between the central railstation and the old town, within a walking distance of 10-15 minutes. Of course there were hotels overseeing the river but I do not know the prices. Value for money in Crowne Plaza Hotel Salz. The Pitter was perfect. Salzburg was perfect to walk around, drink coffee, walk over the bridge. We drank a coffee at the famous Tomaseli...Not a big deal in my opinion and the staff was not so polite. Notice: Everything in Salzburg closes at 18.30. You cannot find anything to buy (even a bottle of milk) after that time

Large rooms with friendly staff and a fantastic location to walk to the old part of town, this hotel is an ideal place to stay. It was an easy stroll every day into town or up to the schloessl in the woods, where we had a snowball fight amidst spectacular Salzburg town views. But beware! There are also convention rooms here too and one of the nights we stayed, there was an Austrian oom-pah band get together. Lots of people drumming and playing the trumpet in the bar and in the foyer, dressed up as Robin Hood or in traditional Lederhosen. It was all very colourful and fun to part of the celebrations and mass hysteria - until we wanted to sleep!! The band kept playing until about 4 in the morning and there were partyers asleep in the corridor in the early morning when we went for breakfast. The breakfast room is large and has a great variety of foods although the pom-pah people looked half dead and unable to speak.

Some of our friends stayed in this hotel a couple years ago and we decided to try it out when we needed a place to stay while renovations in our flat were completed. The location is great, you're just outside the heavily trafficked old city and can be in the heart of the city in about 5-10 minutes on foot. The hotel is on a main road so its also very easy to find your way to and from the hotel. The rooms are pretty spacious for a European hotel and they are dog friendly. The breakfast was pricey, and there are multiple locations to get a bite to eat so close that I would just find a place nearby, Cafe Classic is a very short walk and is located in the same building that Mozart lived in.
