“Lovely cosy place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 March 2012

I wanted to have an informal dinner in a typical place of Karten and I think this restaurant was just a perfect choice. Even if it has a big selection of beers, we were there just for food, we don’t drink. There’s surely a big choice: typical Austrian food, typical Karten food, international, salads, pasta and special selections for kids. Everything is on their website, you can have a look at the menu before going. I liked in particular the Spatzle and the hot Bretzel, but also meet that was really tasty. The interior is cosy and relaxing, the choice of colours is nice with walls matching the light wood of tables and the contrast with red and white tableclothes. Being between the railway station and the main square of the town, it has a perfect location. Great experience also with the staff. Talking about prices, it’s not expensive and I think we were given lots of food for what we paid and that’s another positive thing of this restaurant. Highly recommended!

“Very nice food and beer.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2011

More than 15 years ago I had been here several times for the excellent food. This was under a different management though. After such long time I went in once more for lunch, because I was hungry of course and to find out whether it is still good. I was certainly not disappointed, and had excellent food. The front section with the bar is now the smoking section and the nicer, back section is non smoking. The interior is kept traditionally alpine what you would expect from a restaurant attached to a brewery. All the local classics are on the menu along with some Italian and Balkans dishes. The beer list is long and, albeit I didn't have any, I was surprised that the brewery do so many kinds. Prices are reasonable. The place is located in the centre about half way between the railway station and the main square. It is definitely worth a try for the food or the beer when in the area.

“Try the GOULASH!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 April 2011

For a very low price (about 15 Eur each) you van eat a fantastic goulash and drink some of the local brewed beers. The staff is very nice and the portions are big.

“Try the goulash!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 January 2011

Great food - nice range on the menu, and big portion sizes. We both had a different type of goulash - amazing! Service was fabulous, and there was a big non-smoking seating area. Wonderful value for money.
