“Lovely family break in picturesque countryside”

7 of us visited Neates House for a week in July 2014. My Fiance and I, Parents, Brother and Sister in Law + their 18 month year old daughter.

We had a great time, the house has everything we needed for our stay. Plenty of room for everyone to relax. The house was ideal for my little niece who loved the space to run around! The kitchen was well stocked with utensils etc and the washing machine was very useful. We visited lots of nearby towns with our favorite being Kinsale which is brilliant for a day out. The beach at Rosscarbery is a stunning sandy beach which was perfect for beach cricket when the tide went out! We visited most of the 5 pubs in nearby Union Hall. The Guinness and Murphys went down very well all week! We watched the World Cup Final at Moloneys. The fishmongers is well worth a visit, the salmon we cooked was the nicest I've ever tasted. You could tell it had only just been caught!

There are also kayaks at the house which we took down to the nearby beach. That was a lot of fun, even though being 6 ft 4 made it a little tricky!

The Irish people are so friendly and genuinely appreciate you visiting. We had a lovely week at Neates House and i would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a family house in the lovely Ireland countryside.

“Gloriously Peaceful”
Reviewed 18 January 2015 for a stay in August 2014

My husband and I stayed here with our two school aged children and my husbands parents.
The location of this house is marvellous, close enough to Union Hall to be able to pick up necessities but remote enough to enjoy the glorious views and beautiful countryside and wildlife. The house itself is home from home with everything you could possibly need including a fully stocked larder and a fantastic array of board games, toys and a great stash of lego! We were able to cook meals and launder as if we were at home.
We enjoyed lots of lovely walks down to the bay which is a stones throw away from the house. We had lots of lovely days out both near by and further afield and would definitely recommend a trip to Kinsale. Only an hour from Cork and only an hour from the West Coast we were spoilt for choice. Every single person we met whether in a shop or passing by, were friendly. Needless to say we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay - thank you.

“The beauty of the west coast of Ireland”
Reviewed 16 January 2015 for a stay in June 2014

My wife, I and friends stayed at this house for a wonderful fortnight in June 2014. The accommodation was conveniently located near to Union Hall, surrounded by glorious countryside. It is an ideal location for touring in the region and the accommodation was perfect for six adults and was well maintained . The grounds are suitable for all ages and are well kept.

In short, I would recommend this accommodation to anyone who wishes to see a wonderful part of the world and to tour the region. What is more, the weather was simply glorious!

“Wonderful location”
Reviewed 15 January 2015 for a stay in June 2014

Driving along the causeway across the beautiful loch you enter another world, a wonderful area of Ireland, full of creeks, inlets and islands.
We stayed at Neates house for 10 cloudless days in June, and thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. The house is spacious, warm and extremely well equipped with a large and good functioning kitchen, which unlike most holiday homes actually comes with ingredients and a host of cooking utensils! Brilliant for families or groups of friends.
Union Hall, the nearest village, was very pretty, with a small supermarket, a fish shop and a bakers and a couple of good eating places. Highly recommended!

Thank you for taking the time to review, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and that the weather was as kind as you say. Hopefully you were able to see the Swans with their cygnets leading up to the house? It really is one of the most tranquil and beautiful parts of the world. Best regards, Kylie
