Description: This historical place dating back to World War One came back to life after an extensive renovation. Situated on the waters' edge one can enjoy the views of Manuel Island and Sliema Fort while towering above are the great Valletta bastions. Our team of chefs created a brilliant Sicilian menu to complement this ambiance. One cannot miss the daily catch caught directly from our fishing vessels cooked AL SALE or ZUPPA adding some calamari and prawns for the best experience ever :)

We stayed in Valletta for 18days so can safely say we tried a fair few restaurants specifically for seafood - this was by far the best with a really beautiful dining experience. We arrived just before they opened without a reservation and even though closed they greeted us warmly and invited us to have a drink whilst they waited for them to be ready to open. They are usually fully booked in advance by two weeks but they managed to sort something out to sit by the water outside and eat until the people who had reserved the table arrived. Very hospitable. The food was incredible, my husband had lobster linguine and I fad crab linguine. They own their own boats so the seafood is fresh every day. It was perfect!

Well first of all Tripadvisor should change the name of this restaurant to Portocinno. Seafood is very good but service although very friendly can be a bit quicker. Nice location and nice terrace.

The food looks amazing but had to wait more than 45mins to taste it, plus other 30 minutes waiting for a table.

Our situation is: Water finished, bottle of wine finished, bread finished and olives finished, I think we're not going to enjoy the food anymore. If the service doesn't work, the good food IS NOT APPRECIATED.

We had read of this place in a write-up published in an international newspaper. It was described as a ‘glassy, classy space’ with beautifully-prepared seafood, so we were of course very excited to try it.

Alas, disappointment is a bitter taste. Since the article’s appearance the restaurant had changed its name and this was unfortunately not reflected in its website when we made our search. Our hotel concierge – who was a fountain of information – cited some rather odd circumstances related to the name change – but was never the less able to reserve a table with the ‘new’ restaurant which, despite the name change, apparently kept everything intact in the same location - including its menu, its staff, its décor…

We were disappointed in not getting a table on the terrace by the water – which - until we had left an hour and a half after our arrival – still - had - many unoccupied tables. We were assigned one overlooking the car park. Well, we were somehow consoled by not being the only diners (non-locals) who were given these undesirable spots…

The fritti misti were fine. However, the spaghetti vongole was much too buttery for my taste; my spouse – heeding the server’s recommendation – got a pasta dish (noted as ‘special food’ in the bill) that was smothered with a brown red sauce that seemed to have been concocted from unsold or leftover (?) fish…

To limit this sad and terrible experience, we opted not to have dessert and practically fled the place.
