We visit Malta to see family who have moved there every year. We have always stayed at one of the Ax Hotels. We started off at the Palace which was lovely but now we know stay at the connected Palazzo Capua which is historic, charming and well appointed but only has 5 guest suites. The rooms are all individually designed and decorated. They are comfortable and well appointed a perfect quiet place to relax and get away from busy lives.

The Palazzo is the original "Palace" that the Victoria and Palace hotel are built around. The three hotels are separate but connected and share services. This means have everything you could possibly want on site without the feeling of staying in a mega resort. Indoor and outdoor pools, a range of conference and business services, there is a great taxi company, a highly regarded local Spa company run their Beauty services, there are gyms and a range of restaurants. The food is good across the board and several of the restaurants are not your standard hotel offerings seem to have a good local following.

Where the Ax Hotel chain really comes into it's own, is its staff. They are welcoming, warm and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. They are the reason we keep going back. Any hotel can provide excellent facilities but only good staff can make a it a great experience.

I booked this hotel for my fiancé & myself to stay in for his birthday present. We decided before going to Malta that we would like to get married there next year. The Palazzo Capua was really nice & I liked the bedroom being on another floor. The breakfast at the Victoria hotel was really good. We are now definitely getting married in Malta next July & although we’ve booked a large villa to stay in I have booked the night before the wedding & the wedding night to stay here. I’m really looking forward to it & would highly recommend.

My partner and I have just returned from a fabulous stay at the Palazzo Capua staying in the Francesco Suite. The whole holiday experience from booking to our check out was effortless with staff eager to please and anticipating need at each stage. Despite out flight arriving late, the hotel car was waiting and our check in at reception could not have been warmer.
The room was beautiful - spacious with a wonderfully quiet balcony terrace - more like a home than a hotel room. The room was beautifully appointed and we found staff very keen to ensure that we had everything we needed each day, calling both during the afternoon and the evening offering to refresh towels etc. This was exceptional service.
Our breakfasts and dinners were a gourmet delight which we looked forward to each day. The Temptasian restaurant was simply divine.
We were truly sad to leave but will certainly return.
It has to be said that it is the staff who make your holiday and we experienced fantastic service from start to finish. It is clear that staff stay loyal to the hotel and this has to be a credit to the hotel being so well managed.
If you have not tried the Palazzo, the Victoria or the Palace, you simply must.
