Mdina is a must if you come to Malta. We came on a very expensive Thomson trip and I just wish we had come here ourselves on a public bus (which is very easy to do) we got here later on in the day and did't spend as much time as we would have liked.
You can see why Game of thrones did some filming here, it is very medieval and as you walk around you are drawn back in time. Do go.

This city is lovely! The views from its heights breath-taking. One can wonder on foot around the city; or take an horse drawn carriage. There's a natural history museum; incredible church, fantastic restaurants fitting most budgets from pizza to full 3 course meals and beautiful glassware. We loved the experience!

Winding streets surrounded by beautiful buildings. Lots of little shops and cafes. Parking was difficult but the persevere - spaces on side streets away from the main car park although I’m not sure this will be so easy in summer months.

If you are in Malta, you must take a visit to the ancient city of Mdina. There was so much history and beautiful architecture. We only spent one day here but you could spend several walking the old city and touring the cathedrals and old streets.

Lovely ancient city -well worth a visit. Lovely narrow streets and picturesque buildings. We had about 3 hours there and visited the Mdina glass shops and craft village area too. The area around the Cathedral is a must and the views from the top are not to be missed. There's also a little train that takes you around the outskirts which was worth doing though would have been better with a commentary on board.
