“ideal setting”
Reviewed 19 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Alexander and Erica were extremely efficient, kind and helpful in setting us on the right path during our stay in Malta. Their house is ideally situated for exploring Malta's historical heart, M'dina and Rabat. It is quiet and close to all amenities, and has excellent bus links to the rest of the island. It is a far more glamorous setting than the crowded and mass-tourism sites on the northern coast. As walkers we had easy access to the magnificent cliff paths and thinly populated countryside of Malta's south coast.

If you are looking for the ultimate holiday then you need to stay at Mdina View. We have just spent the most fantastic 6 days exploring the beautiful city of Mdina and the delights of Malta. The owners, Alex and Erica, through their outstanding hospitality, ensured that we had an indepth knowledge of places to visit, restaurants to dine at, bars to taste local beer and cafes to eat local treats!!! They also provided a guided tour of the area whilst taking us to our apartment after collecting us from the airport; even after an unscheduled delay. Alex's passion of his country ensures you don't miss the smallest delight of Malta. The apartment is spotlessly clean, with a modern decor on the inside but retaining its heritage from the outside. It is equipped with everything you could possibly need and more! complimentary bedside chocolates were an extra special touch we hadn't expected but thoroughly enjoyed. The views from the upstairs terrace are breathtaking giving you a panoramic view of 3/4 of Malta. There is no need to hire a car as the local bus service is adequate to travel around on a daily basis. The fare for 1 day is only €2.60. For this you have unlimited travel, hopping on and off as many times as you like! We even used this service to travel to Gozo for the day. It means you can enjoy a meal with drinks at a recommended restaurant (all of which we tried and would recommend) and don't have to worry about driving or parking! The only downside - we had to come home!! It was extremely hard to leave this delightful holiday home and the friendship of the owners. Counting the days until we can return.
