We stayed at this lovely villa in early July. The transfer from airport to villa with Frankie, was seamless and organised by our wonderful host Ted. The villa is very spacious and clean. The private pool is wonderful. It is very deep so non swimmers would need to be supervised at all times, and swim vests are essential as there is nowhere in the pool shallow enough for a young child to stand up. Our accommodating host Ted also arranged car hire for us, which we felt was essential to explore this beautiful island beyond the confines of the villa. We had a great time here and would not hesitate in recommending it to others.

Wonderful classic 'farmhouse' on Gozo, the second-largest island of Malta, which is free from the hordes of tourists that crowd the main island and capital, Valetta. Gozo is beautiful, with an intense light-blue sea and pretty little bays, with splendid churches and narrow streets. It allows for surprisingly interesting, adventurous and aesthetic holidays. In mid-October, we had an entire week of > 25 degrees Celsius bliss. The house is great, it is very private and spacious, it has pomegranate trees and bougainvillea in the garden, a large, deep swimming pool, nicely designed. Inside, it has a warm, romantic atmosphere and a big, open kitchen - our three young children felt at home immediately. We received a warm welcome from the owners of the house, with groceries in the fridge and ample information on what to see and where to eat on Gozo. We can highly recommend Villa Xini for an autumn or a spring break.
We stayed at this villa in July. The villa is lovely, made from local stone, with high ceilings and nice artwork on the walls. Outside there is a private, carefully tended garden with a large, deep pool and places with shade so you can either sit in the sun or the shade pretty much from dawn to dusk.
There is air conditioning in the bedrooms, but we didn't use it as there are mosquito screens on all of the windows, so we preferred to have the windows open and the ceiling fans working. This gave a lovely through draft and gave a much more natural feeling than you get with air conditioning.
The villa is located in the centre of Xewkija, with three supermarkets, a bakery and a pizzeria all within a couple of minutes walk. I was a little worried that it might be a bit noisy, but it was surprisingly quiet, with only the occasional dog, goat (not sure where they were!), a bit of building work and the daily firework barrage for the local feast disrupting the quiet. I slept better here than I have anywhere else for many years.
We asked the owner, Ted, to organise a transfer to the villa for us and got a hire car delivered to the villa for part of the holiday, which made life very easy and meant that we didn't have to deal with driving on Malta. There is also a bus stop within a few minutes walk of the villa if you don't fancy driving on Gozo.
If you're looking for somewhere on Gozo to relax, potter and enjoy the occasional swim then Villa Xini could be for you.
