“Beautiful property in a quiet village”

We had a wonderful stay at Ta Nenu and as it was our first visit to Gozo our expectations were more than met. The farmhouse was lovely, pool was fabulous and it was convenient for the village.
Positives:
Frances lives opposite and was very helpful with any questions or issues that we had. (Thank you Frances for all your help)
The pool was warm, clean and there was a net to fish out any insects each morning.
Rooms were exceptionally well appointed, clean and beds were really comfortable.
Wi-fi was strong and and allowed my son to game on his laptop.
Kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cleaning products and all clean when we arrived. Large fridge and a spare fridge.
Massive flat screen tv with dvd player and cable tv. Comfy leather sofas.
Big dining table with 6 chairs and dining outside also.
Local restaurant food was 15 min walk away. A number to choose from and fantastic, as was all the food on Gozo!
Supermarket 8 min walk away.
Air conditioned buses from outside the property allow you to get to the capital and the local beaches.
The transfer from the airport via the ferry to the property (organised for us by the owner) was very smooth (E70 each way + E4.65 each for the ferry). It took just under 2 hours once we were out of the airport.

Things to watch out for (none of these were a big issue for us, more for info):
Pool gets deep very quickly if you have young children - not an issue for us.
Pool and garden are in the shade first thing in the morning until around 11 and then from about 4 onwards which means you are out in the sun in the heat of the day. You can use the roof terrace to sunbathe when the garden is in shade.
Only 2 sunbeds in the garden - the other two are on the roof. Bringing them down the spiral staircase would be a bit of a palaver!
Buses stop outside and there is some road noise but it didn't really bother us as they are only once an hour or so.
Overall we had a wonderful time and are looking forward to returning to Gozo for another holiday.

Liked best: The Pool, the property felt really comfortable and it was generally quiet
Liked least: Had to be really careful in the kitchen with food otherwise the ants would be over the surfaces.

“Beautiful House, Great Location!”
Reviewed 11 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Bronwyn was extremely helpful in setting up the rental and answering all of my questions leading up to the trip. The house was gorgeous and comfortable. The beds were excellent and very comfortable. The location was central and perfect for exploring the island of Gozo. I would definitely stay here again!

“A very good base from which to explore Gozo.”
Reviewed 17 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

This was an excellent property from which to explore Gozo. Although the description indicates there is only a short walk of 5 minutes into the village in reality for elderly relatives with limited mobility this proved far more difficult and necessitated us booking a taxi to and from the village when we wanted to go for an evening out in the local restaurants, which were excellent. We did hire a car which is advisable if you want to explore Gozo. The open top bus tours are highly recommended and are very informative. The villa itself was as described although we did have a few problems with wi fi for the first few days. There were exceptionally bad storms for a day or two during our stay which resulted in leaks in one of the bedroom ceilings and the main bathroom window. However overall the property was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our two week break.

“Lovely property in a great location!”
Reviewed 22 October 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Myself and my family had stayed in Malta before, but this was our first stay on the island of Gozo and I have to say that we were not disappointed.
We hired a car for the week (from Malta First ) and had a pleasant and hassle free journey from the airport, across on the ferry and to the accommodation.
Although Gozo is very small (14 x 7 Km), there is plenty to do and see, and the farmhouse is an ideal location to explore from. First impressions were mixed as it seems that it can be overlooked by surrounding properties, but rest assured, it is not. It is on a bus route so there is some noise, but it would be an advantage for those who do not hire a car. The inside is deceptive and has a real sense of space with the high ceilings. Facilities are excellent with all you need for self catering. There is a small but adequate pool which the family enjoyed using to cool off, and the roof terrace has the sun all day.
It is a 5 minute walk from the centre of Xaghra which is beautiful and has plenty of atmosphere. There's loads of good restaurants and the square is a must, dominated by the large Basilica, which is wonderfully lit up at night.
The Ggantija Megalithic Temples, one of the World's oldest free standing buildings (~3000 BC), are also located just up the road, with a newly developed visitors center.
Ramla bay with its lovely golden, sandy beach is a minute drive down the valley, and another beach worth visiting was at Marsalforn, again a short drive away- as is everywhere on the island!
We also took a trip to the Azure window at Dwerja bay where we went on a small boat from the inland sea, through the caves and round to the window- highly recommended. En route, it is also worth stopping off at Our Lady of Ta'Pinu Basilica; a beautiful church in a very serene location.
We spent a couple of fantastic mornings at the Blue Lagoon and can recommend getting there early (before the crowds). The water there is beautifully clear and worth taking some snorkeling gear.
If you are considering going to Xaghra, it may be worth going around the 8th of September, when the festival takes place. We witnessed the town getting ready for this, and it looked like it would be quite a sight!
All in all, we had a wonderful, family holiday at Ta Nenu!

“Ideal Accommodation for this lovely island.”
Reviewed 5 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We had a wonderful holiday with perfect weather, and met lots of friendly locals. The accommodation was close to bus stops enabling visits to everywhere you needed. Always best to buy a weekly bus ticket, as very cheap. The nearby Ramla bay beach was beautiful and also uncrowded. Add to that lots of lovely places to eat and drink, especially enjoyed evening drinks in the square, all pretty perfect. Our accommodation was comfy and we used the pool lots. Very enjoyable and relaxing.
