At the time when I checked in. The receptionist told me that your room rate don't include breakfast. However there would be "complimentary" breakfast served daily between 7am to 10 am. Therefore, no breakfast will be provided before 7am. Ok! That's fine. But I will prefer you tell me that before I made my booking.
The bus stop is one block away from the hotel with no shelter. It is an ordeal to stand in a dark chilling and raining morning to wait up to 35 minutes with an empty stomach.

Dear dazzlingrose128,

Thank you for your review, there must have been something lost in translation here as we do indeed serve tea, coffee and pastries from 04:00 until breakfast starts.

The bus stop situation is controlled by the city of Reykjavík and I do agree that it is inconvenient for all hotels in the city but unfortunately the hotels are kind of powerless regarding this matter.

I do hope you found some positives during your stay and just forgot to mention them ;)

Kind Regards,

Gylfi Freyr

Hotel was average, there was no safe in the room and breakfast buffet was average. Staff was very nice and helpful. Happy hour at the bar but no restaurant. Rooms were kept very clean. Location was OK.

I had booked the trip to Reykjavik as a surprise for my husband's 40th birthday. The hotel is lovely: very modern, fabulous choice for breakfast (included in the price of the room), very well placed for walking around Reykjavik. Our room didn't have a wardrobe, just a hanging rail and a few shelves so I think that could be improved but the bed was comfortable and the shower was lovely and warm after a cold day of sight-seeing. I would really recommend this hotel.

Excellent value for money. Clean room. Great variety for breakfast. Only one minus, please give more than 2 creamers per two person room, apart from that everything else very good for the money.

Regarding location, very central and easy bus stop access, close to the main strip as well as the seafront.

We spent three nights at this hotel. It is ideally located with plenty of restaurants and other attractions within easy walking distance. The hotel looks pretty basic from the outside but don't be put off by this as it is the typical building style for the area. It is very nicely decorated - yes it is dark but really cosy and it has a very relaxed warm and pleasant feeling to it. The dark decor could also help you to sleep in the summer when daylight is plenty! The staff were great - really welcoming and friendly and a credit to the hotel. The breakfast was excellent, everything was really fresh and there was a great selection. We would certainly not hesitate in recommending this hotel for either a short or long stay in this fantastic country.
