Great hotel right in the centre of Reykjavik. You get 3 star but clean and very friendly/helpful staff. Breakfast buffet good and is included but there is no variation to the offerings on a daily basis. Location is in good walking distance of restaurants but can be noisy at night.

Room tip: Ask for a high room at the back of the hotel. Front rooms are noisy.

The hotel is located right in the center of Reykjavik. Many of the shops, restaurants, and sights were walking distance. The tourism center is right next door, so you can simply stop in there for any questions, information on tours, and exchanging currency.

We found our room to be comfortable and clean. We noticed that some of the upper floors are part of an extension, stretching out to the building next door - so not all rooms are identical. The extension seemed to have more updated appliances. Also, the shower was not very secure, so the water would leak into the toilet/sink area. This was just a minor issue that we did not really worry about, as you really don't stay in your hotel the entire time you are in Iceland! They also serve breakfast for free up until 10AM.

Traveling all day, this was a cozy hotel to come back to. Safe, comfortable, and neat.

What a perfect hotel. The rooms were comfortable, clean and large. The lobby was inviting and active. They serve a delicious breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh breads, oatmeal) each day. The location was fantastic in the middle of shops, pubs and restaurants ND steps from the harbor. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel. We also visited some other Center Hotel properties and had drinks at their nearby Sky Bar and we're very impressed.

Perfect location: within easy walking distance of the city's sights and cafes.
Great room: clean, safe, spacious, with windows that open and an 8th floor balcony view.
Excellent staff: knowledgeable, helpful, and personable.
An adequate breakfast: well prepared and presented but could have benefited from a little more day to day variety, a few cooked vegetables, and an urn of brewed decaf coffee.
We would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a pleasant stay in Reykjavik.

Room tip: 8th floor balcony rooms!

The CenterHotel Plaza is located right in the heart of Reykjavik, next to a little square. Propably the best location in town, with dozens of restaurants, the old harbour and Harpa concert house all with in five minutes walk.

The hotel looks modern on the outside and common spaces (lobby, restaurant, breakfast room are all new or recently refurbished. Several older wooden buildings have been added and accessed through walkways over the roads, making it an interesting combination. From what I saw all the rooms are well furnished and nicely finished and in essence all the old buildings have been gutted and rebuilt to a very good standard.

We got the last upstairs top room suite and really enjoyed our four day stay. Excellent furnishings, comfortable bed, minibar and clean and spacious bathroom.

Make sure you booking includes breakfast as eating in Iceland is expensive. The breakfast was served in a modern breakfast room, with a nice ambiance and very good selection. Cooked food included eggs two ways, bacon and sausages. Freshly baked warm bread with local jams, plenty of cheese and cold cuts. a separate mysli and cereal bar with yoghurt and skyr for the healthy options.

Room tip: Get one of the older houses, top floor facing the sea if possible.
