The first room I was given was not up to my standards. It was tiny and had water sports on sealing and mold in the bathroom
The lady found me a room a couple flour up on the executive level It is my understanding the hotel is stating a renovation after the summer season is over. There were many things that were showing it;s age

Room Tip: Executive room was the best.

Beautiful hotel with great amenities and friendly staff. The hotel was in the perfect location - walking distance to everything! We stayed in a beautiful corner room with a spacious bathroom and the room was facing the harbor. One bit of caution is that there is not much insulation and the rooms can get stuffy. If you are staying near the BBP, it will be very noisy at night (1 am - 4 am depending on the night.) Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay.

Check-in was efficient and friendly. The front desk staff was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and tour bookings. Our room was on the 4th floor with only skylights for windows - a little claustrophobic. The ceiling also angled in, so you need to be careful not to bump your head. But overall, the room was nicely furnished and clean. Other than noise from the street on a Saturday night, it was also quiet.

Breakfast buffet offers a nice selection of hot and cold items, though the hot items could have been hotter.

Location is great. Easy walk to restaurants and tour pick-up points.

Overall, a nice choice in Reykjavik.
