This is the first place we stayed in Iceland and I chose it because we wanted to be in the City Center so we could easily get wherever we wanted to go. I'm very glad I chose this place because I discovered that many of the other hotels are further out and require either a long walk or transportation to get to the center of things.

The hotel itself has clean, attractive rooms and the service is friendly and helpful. Another huge plus was they allowed us to check in early because our plane from the U.S. landed at 6:45 AM and we needed a little sleep after the night flight. So we checked in around 8:30 AM, got a few hours of sleep and then went out and seized the day. I think the best way to get early check-in is to request it by email or phone a day or two before you arrive. That's what we did and they told us a room would be available for us immediately.

One thing I hear is this hotel might not be the best place to stay on the weekends because it is surrounded by all-night clubs that Reykjavic is known for. However during the week it's quiet as could be. They also serve a wonderful breakfast in the hotel for a pretty reasonable price, relative to other restaurants in the area. For 10 Euro they served a nice spread of homemade breads, great cheeses, pastries, eggs, meats, skyr (great Icelandic yogurt) and what ever coffee drink you want, such as cappuccino and espresso. We found this big breakfast easily sustained us until dinner.

I would highly recommend this hotel if you are new to Iceland and want a centrally located base to walk to all the highlights in the city, day or night.

Room Tip: If you want quiet, choose a room facing away from the main street, but if you want more light and do...

Stayed there for two different weekends earlier this year and found the service and staff both excellent and helpful. They were very knowledgeable about the deals available to tourists and were constantly concerned that I was not ripped of on the price of the tours we were looking to take. The hotel itself was very clean and well kept on both occasions and on my second trip i was upgraded to a better room with a balcony and a view over the whole of down town Reykjavik. I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends and will be heading back there myself later in the year. Excellent Value for money and an awesome location.

OK, you've read the other reviews. I'll start off by saying that we were there in March, so there weren't the dreaded summer crowds you read about in other reviews. We landed at this hotel because I got a great deal on it by booking it with my flight on Expedia. I wouldn't call the hotel fancy, but it's in a fantastic location, central to everything. The front desk service was really good. Very helpful staff. The room was quite small, but who wants to spend time in their room? The bathroom was very nice and very roomy.

I could see how this place could be a bit of a bummer in the summer when the streets get noisy. I usually sleep with earplugs, so even though it was a little noisy on our first night (a Saturday night) I still slept like a baby. If you're going in the winter, this a GREAT choice at a great price.

VERY central, many of the bars and restaurants within a 2 minute walk - which causes problems with noise from the bars at 5am, and street cleaners at 7am. Most of which would be remedied with ear plugs, and a room away from the front of the hotel. Otherwise good value; rooms were a bit small, but made up for by the quality of the shower, and decent sized bathroom. Prices pretty reasonable too. If I had a room away from the road I'd be giving 4*.

As above this hotel is in a great location for everything, bars, nightlife, restaurants, transport, tours.......... on and on!! As others have said it's noisy at the weekend, BUT hey it's a city center hotel!!(I recommend a room on the front with ear plugs or book elsewhere)other than that the hotel is clean, the room was bang on big television with loads of channels, mini bar, tea and coffee, great shower, dressing gown, slippers, breakfast is good, mini gym if that floats your boat!!above all the staff were 100 % anything they could do they would. 100 % recommend. What I do recommend is planning there's alot to do in Iceland it's a big place.visit and enjoy.

Room Tip: high floor on the front. but it is a city center hotel after all.great place.
