Description: Seafood restaurant by the old harbor in Reykjavik, Iceland. Founder was Kjartan Halldórsson who lived and served at the Seabaron until Elísabet, an employee who worked at the Seabaron with Kjartan with passion for a long time and helped him continue the business when it got busier every year, took over in his final days. They're unique grandfather/daughter friend relationship became a blooming business by the old harbor and more and more people wanted to come and try this old fishermans lobster soup that he swore to be the best in the world! Kjartan is remembered by anyone that was lucky enough to meet him and his spirit still lives at the Seabaron. The menu is the same as when he started it and we continue to serve fairly priced freshest Icelandic fish grilled on skewers and the worlds best lobster soup! P.S our beers are quite cheap and go very well with our delicious menu! Our soup and skewers are lactose and glucose free!

Saegreifinn is the place to go for fresh seafood skewers along the harbour in Reykjavik, the history of this place is pretty neat and you can even find a replica of the Sea Baron himself inside the little shack. The minute you step into Saegreifinn you get a glimpse of all the fresh fish inside a fridge which all look so amazingly delicous, after you pick your desired skewer it then gets grilled for you. We started off with a warm and filling lobster soup which was one of the best in town by the way! We followed our delicious soup with a salmon skewer and fresh jumbo scallop skewer and paired them with some sauces from the little sauce bar which had all kind of variations from spicy, to soy, to a tartar like sauce that was delish! I also like the orange soda Eglis and kind of addicted to it the whole entire time in Iceland. Highly recommend this place for some fresh seafood, you won't regret it!

Food was great and you could select it from the fridge. grilled fish and veg on skewer - all freshly cooked. would consider this basic food but very good and tasty. setting would not be to everyone's taste as we were sitting on what looked like kegs with cushions and table was a crooked. bit crowded.
we went twice and if we were staying longer would probably have eaten there again as the food was really good.

Dropped in here for lunch just before the queue extended out of the door. Lobster soup was as reasonably priced as it gets in Rekyavik and tasted nice as well as being substantial. Great that the place also has taster sizes, including whale meat. I loved it and keen to go back.
