Description: Seafood restaurant by the old harbor in Reykjavik, Iceland. Founder was Kjartan Halldórsson who lived and served at the Seabaron until Elísabet, an employee who worked at the Seabaron with Kjartan with passion for a long time and helped him continue the business when it got busier every year, took over in his final days. They're unique grandfather/daughter friend relationship became a blooming business by the old harbor and more and more people wanted to come and try this old fishermans lobster soup that he swore to be the best in the world! Kjartan is remembered by anyone that was lucky enough to meet him and his spirit still lives at the Seabaron. The menu is the same as when he started it and we continue to serve fairly priced freshest Icelandic fish grilled on skewers and the worlds best lobster soup! P.S our beers are quite cheap and go very well with our delicious menu! Our soup and skewers are lactose and glucose free!

I like seafood and I read a review in the times about this place so I just had to come. 1350 Kr for a fabulous bowl of lobster soup and five pieces of French bread. Awesome. Easy to find and lovely helpful staff.

This was the lunch special- 2,500 ISK, a good value that included a small loaf of bread. Great spot, delicious meal! Met some cool people while there, too!

We went to Iceland with a group of 5 traveling around and sightseeing ...

First night we arrived we noticed wow it's expensive here - are they kidding - spoiled Germans where water costs more then beer.

Anyway / the food here is very very delicious normaly I don't pick fish but here we wanted to try it - it was amazing

The prices are cheap compared to other places - one fish stick is 2000 isk the veggie sticks are much cheaper. Water is free

Would recommend it for sure

Small quaint littke restaurant down by the docks in Reykjavik.
Upon walking in we were served immediately at the counter then directed to our seats at the long tables at front of restaurant. Its not flashy but does the job. We ordered the Lobster Soup and Wolffish kebab deal for 2600isk and Minke whale sample for 300isk then had the fermented shark with icelandic shot for 600isk. The lobster soup was to die for, it came with soft fresh bresh roll and chunks of lobster in the amazing soup. The wolffish was tender and flakey and buttery and the minke whale was unexpectedly delicious and tender. The fermented shark was salty and chewy as expected.
Overall we loved this place and cant wait to go back on our next visit to Reykjavik.
Well worth the money in co parrison to thw rest of Iceland and their high food prices.
yum yum yum!!
