I stayed here by myself in an all female dorm in July of 2016.
The hostel was clean. The sheets were nice, and there was a sink and personal locker in the room. The kitchen was tidy. Hostel staff were knowledgeable and were able to provide instructions.
The bunks in the female dorm were comfortable. There weren't anything like individual dedicated plugs for the bunk or lights.
The mix of people staying in the hostel made for a somewhat transient experience-- people kept to themselves. There were families with young kids and there were older people and there were younger twenty somethings. The layout of the hostel kind of promotes this "do your own thing" vibe. It isn't a place where I'd want to hang out for long beyond sleeping, washing up, and getting myself prepped to hit Helsinki, which makes sense because that's probably why you're there!
The bathroom situation wasn't bad but it wasn't my favorite either. You have a sink in your room, some bathrooms are small half baths with a small sink and toilet. There was a larger one with a shower as well. It felt a little claustrophobic, but it was tidy.More
