“Great location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2011

I stayed in this hostel for two nights in a female dorm. The location can't be beat. It's right in the middle of the design district -- surrounded by tons of cafes, restaurants and shops, and a ten minute walk to the train station. In fact, most of the sites I wanted to visit were within walking distance -- but the hostel is also well served by public transportation (for those with tired feet). Additionally, the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I would definitely stay here again.

I spent two nights here while traveling through Finland. I thought that the hostel was in a great location -- very close to tram lines as well as the central railway station, which proved very useful for further travels throughout Finland. I'm an avid walker, and I thought that most of the sights I was interested in seeing were very walkable from the hostel's location.

For a hostel, this wasn't too shabby. There was internet, which worked pretty well. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided me with a lot of information on Helsinki. They also provided me with a hair dryer both nights, which was great.

Everything seemed clean. There were more than enough bathrooms and showers. I never had to wait to use the facilities. There also was a common room with a fridge, a tea kettle, and some complimentary tea bags. Given that it was so chilly and snowy, I was more than happy to drink tea after walking!

I would definitely stay here again. Though I'm staying with friends in Helsinki this July, I still recommend this hostel to people who go to Helsinki.

This place is great. We -me and my wife- stayed for two days in double room. The location is good enough to walk to the center of town and the staff is nice. Cafes, bars and grocery stores are near the hostel.
Room is clean and comfortable. We have experienced fairly enough 5 stars hotels and compare to those hotels, this hostel's bed is really comfort.
And i've heard joke that "helsinki's hotel is more expensive than manhattan" and i believe that could be true in some ways. In thar matter, the price of this hostel is good.
P.s. One of staffs, a girl who has bracelet in her mouth, has great smile.

When looking into hostels, it came down to this and another one-both had pretty good reviews, but this one offered free wi fi. Bingo, it won. Being overseas, I really wasn't using my cell phone so as to not get a huge phone bill, so the internet was extremely necessary to be able to use skype to make calls and emails to communicate. However during my 7 day stay, the internet was extremely dodgy. It worked enough to send emails (although sometimes you had to keep trying to connect, or wait a few hours) and the service was a little better in the kitchen-but I don't feel that I should have had to go into the kitchen to use the internet-especially if i want to make a private call via skype. However other than that, the hostel was pretty nice-it was quite, and the rooms were big enough (I stayed in a single) the kitchen was nice, and for the most part the staff seemed really friendly and willing to help. Bathrooms are small, but separate from the shower facility which is set up as a one person shower (I had thought it would be dorm style) so that was nice also. I felt safe here and I am a female that was traveling alone. Also GREAT location. Close to all the trams and a 5 minute walk or less to Aleksanterinkatu. Definitely recommended.

The localation ist great, near the bus station, near the main station, near the main points of intererest, in the heart of helsinki shopping center and in the middle of the best locals to eat&drink, clubs etc.
But I was very disappointed with the hostel itsself... The building ist great too, but the hostel is on the second floor (no lift!) and it is a converted apartment ..but not really a good work! Shower, WC, Kitchen and rooms are not really confortable, everything ist quite old and shabby... It is a damnage, it could be such a nice place. It would just need a good renovation. I find the price quite expensive, for such a standard... Anyway, if you just need a central place to stay and you do do not really care of the "ambiente", it can be the right place for you... Staff is OK, WIFI ist etc.
