For anyone who wants a great day out from Stockholm this is definately the thing to do.
Depending on the train you catch the journey to Linkoping can take from 1.5 to 2.5 hours. However the trains in Sweden run on time and are very clean and comfortable, though not cheap. The train journey passes easily with some magnificant countryside to view.
As well as the museum there is the town, which is a lovely Swedish town where the center of town has really nice cafe's and parks to walk around.
The museum itself is a short bus or taxi ride from the station. It has a large number of aircraft from the dawn of aviation right through to the latest aircraft in use in the Swedish Airforce.
There are a number of very rare types of aircraft including Junkers 86, Gloster Gladiator and lots of home grown Saab types and Fiat CR 42. The musuem has two main halls cramed with aircraft, many of which are in airworthy condition and were flown at the museums opening.
If you are in any way interested in aviation, then this museum can show you something you have not seen before. It is without doubt one of the very best that I have ever seen.
