I've been at the new beach club again for the second time they had a new event a brunch on Saturday and what I can say is amazing for only 800 baht plus charges .You can have a nice quality
starters main course desserts and a grill station where the meat is fresh and high quality specially the beef another element very surprised me was the bread there was a big loaf of French country bread just baked wow a paradise for me .Then I know that they're making their own bakery stuff there are several bakeries on the island and I think they should come here to get a training session.I can say the chef know his job . There is also many entertaining for children and adults can use the swimming pool table tennis pool table kayaking beach volleyball. We will come again with friends for sure it should be more advertised about it because the concept is great and it can attract many residents as well because until now it look like a secret place. Congratulations to the amazing waiters and waitresses and a special mention to the chef and his team

I recently visited the resort with my family and friends. There was nothing to eat.We had to get food from a near by shop and cook it our self. The hotel is very far from the main city and is very unsafe. There was huge electricity outage problem in the hotel. The hotel is not even equipped with generator.Never ever plan a stay in this hotel.

Dear maina870

I am not sure whether you stayed with us or at another hotel?

As you can sea clearly from our many reviews we have a fantastic restaurant at our Beach Club where we offer great food, in fact the feedback we receive regarding our cuisine is fantastic, from home made bread, pastries, jams and yoghurts at breakfast to amazing Thai dishes cooked from only fresh ingredients right the way through to our homemade pizzas and delicious desserts (chefs homemade chocolate brownie is fantastic!!).

We even offer a special menu for those guests who have allergies to wheat, dairy and nuts.

Our restaurant is open from 6:00 am through to 11:00 pm every day and we offer room service to all our guests that can be ordered using the complimentary mobile phone we provide in each villa.

Samui did suffer one or two short power cuts over the last 3 months and we have full generator backup in our reception, guests services office, restaurant and pool area, on top of this we have full generator backup in all of our Ocean Suites and full emergency lighting in each villa.

As a cyclist, I can state as fact it takes less than 8 minutes to ride a push bike to Lamai and most of our guest appreciate the tranquility of our kilometre long, white sand private beach with the hustle and bustle of Lamai only a few minutes away.

I’m please to see you gave us 4/5 for sleep quality so clearly you felt comfortable and relaxed at night.

Thank you for your feedback.

Regards

Phil

Stayed for 2 weeks as part of a larger group.
Accommodation - stayed in 2 bed ocean view. We were upstairs with shared pool with lower accommodation. Very large balcony with seating. Fantastic view. Big enough apartment for 5 (2 teens and a younger one) with a small pull out bed being added. 2 bathrooms. Worked well. Few things need refreshed overall nice. Pool at our accommodation was green for a few days and pump off for one day. This was sorted.
Beach area fantastic. Very quiet. Part of our group did kayaking and snorkelling.
Main Pool had issues while we were there. Green water which resulted in closure. We missed this feature as its central point of resort with bar, food and staff..... but used the pool at reception which is lovely. Main pool opened after a few days.
Kids loved pool table, beach elastic activity and table tennis. We used kids club, gym and tennis courts - all great.
Food exceptional. We ate from menu on most days however there were also buffet evenings. All of our party enjoyed the food. Live entertainment was easy listening and we always enjoyed this.
The best assest is the staff. So friendly and helpful. Service great although sometimes it got very busy. We were all delighted with the friendly service.
We used the complimentary bus a few times and again this was great. The buggy took us around the resort if we needed.
We used the spa and again everyone was happy and was good value for money.
Worth mentioning hotel has a few dogs. To begin with it seems odd however we soon learned they are an asset to the resort chasing off stray dogs. Friendly and no problem with kids, they don't bother you at all infact we all enjoyed seeing them. They often walked us home at night.
Free wifi with good coverage. Rooms have AC.
This is a perfect resort if you are looking for a quieter resort. It's clean, friendly and very pretty. We all enjoyed our time here.

Room tip: Accommodated dairy allergy with a short meeting with chef. Most of usual menu dairy free.

We liked it here. We stayed in Ocean Room/Villa 1. Bottom level.
Pros:
Friendly staff. Lovely plunge pool. Right on the sand! *I think you share pool with villa upstairs.
Free activities like paddle boards, kayaks. Lots of arranged activities. Very good spot for families I think. They can arrange scooters/cars.
(Our scooter was 350bht).
Cons:
Secluded is nice, but for me too far away from everything. On scooter 10-15 mins away to Lamai. Nothing in bar fridges and it's a little stroll to restaurant to get a drink. No shops close by. 10 min walk to mart. The water is shallow with lots of rocks, so sort of limited with swimming times.
*I can see the massive appeal for families, as this place is lovely, with many activities, but I would prefer a different location myself.

Having made a last minute decision and changed our travel plans from Krabi (too much rain!) to Koh Samui I am SO glad we did! Shiva Samui exceeded our expectations. Why? Being a family of five with 3 children aged 18, 15 and 6 we wanted something for everyone which this place has. There's a kids club for younger children which runs in the morning and afternoon with lots of activities like painting coconut, hair braiding, playing on the beach etc. For teenagers there are a table tennis table, pool table and beach volleyball every afternoon at 5pm - staff also joins in and it's a great way of meeting people. There is also other activities during the week like Thai boxing which got our son Alex hooked so he arranged another private lesson with Aan. We did a family mountain biking tour with Phil the owner who was standing in for Lak the sports Mgr as he had the morning off - 2 hours cycling to the other side of the island and finish off with some hills - we really enjoyed it. As it was an early morning start Phil had arranged for member of staff to look after our 6 years old - taking her to breakfast and then she made friends in the kids club. The staff really make this place, they are all so friendly and welcoming. Phil and his wife Jane are both very hands on and make sure all guests are looked after - it's so nice to see they really care about the guests but their staff too. Guest Services - Nicky and Tasha are both so helpful and sorted out so many things for us - thank you! We were on the all inclusive and this really worked for us as we could order any and how many drinks we wanted during the day and not worry about any additional cost. We stayed for 6 nights and we all agreed we had an amazing time and didn't want to leave - we wished we had stayed longer! Thank you Shiva Samui for making this a family holiday to remember. We will be back one day and in the meantime spread the word to our friends this is a must visit place! Love from The Horncastles
