“Worth Its Rating”
Reviewed 13 September 2012 via mobile

Kryp In is a tiny restaurant deep in the Gamla Stan area with low ceilings and a snug, friendly atmosphere. The menu is based on traditional Swedish cuisine and it is of the highest quality, full of flavour and a treasure for both the adventurous and the conservative eater. Seafood stew might not sound very glamorous in English but this Swedish version of bouillabaisse was delicious. And in Autumn, the chanterelles are in season... Friendly and efficient service and a good wine list. Go and enjoy!

“Wonderful dining- hard to forget”
Reviewed 12 September 2012

I saw the recommendations in TripAdvisor and made a reservation two days in advance. I'm so happy that we had such a good dinner at a fantastic restaurant. We've had dinner in numerous Michelin star restaurants all over the world so far, but this was better than most of it. Kryp Inn really deserves all five stars for its service and the culinary skill. The restaurant is very small with a small number of tables but it is a romantic and poetic adventure. They wellcome you with kind hospitality at the door. They have a good selection of wine. All the food was extraordinarly delicious; I had fish , my husband had meat, both perfect. The chanterelle soup was the best soup I've ever had in my life. And especially the lime cheesecake with white chocolate chunks was so charming. We really feel so lucky to find this little awsome restaurant on one of the small streets of Gamla Stan. We ate in couple more restaurants in Stockholm- much more expensive ones- but this one was the best of all. Really a wonderful dining experience.

“Excellent”
Reviewed 12 September 2012

I ate in here based on the recommendations made on Trip Advisor and I wasn't disappointed. It's a lovely quaint restaurant tucked off a main street in the Old Town, It's all curved and low ceilings and wood fixtures and fittings. The main thing is though that the food is amazing. They have amazing treacle bread which they will happily give you the recipe for. It's in Swedish though! I had the fillet of beef for my main and it was perfect. The flavours were amazing and it was cooked very well. I'd go back in a heartbeat to try the whole menu!
A little comment on the price, it's costly but then everything in Sweden is but this is definitely worth it!

“Befitting our Anniversary”
Reviewed 9 September 2012

I rarely give the maximum mark but the Kryp In deserves all five stars for its culinary prowess and accomplished service. We were recommended this restaurant by both TripAdvisor and our hotel, the Victory Inn, and both were absolutely right.

A hospitable welcome at the door, yes – but, what's much more rare, a willingness to change the table we'd been seated at when we spotted another that was seemingly empty and more to our linking. The gracious touch continued throughout the meal, in terms of awareness of service and soundness of recommendation. We were guided through a feast, with the main course (reindeer) cooked to perfection – an easy dish to transmogrify into shoe leather. The suggested desert, lime cheesecake, was most clever: chunks of white chocolate, an item I normally abhor, were deftly concealed inside the mouse to create an irresistible combination of milky and tart. But the real masterstroke came at the start, when the chef issued his declaration of the quality to come: The chanterelle soup was an exquisite concoction that cannot easily be described as it surpassed its ingredients and left a taste at once nutty, salty, creamy and lingering in the mouth.

Heaven! A fitting way to celebrate 17 years of (relatively!) connubial bliss. And at £50/head including wines for 3 courses, a steal. No wonder we dined among the local crowd...

“Romantic location and amazing swedish food”
Reviewed 7 September 2012 via mobile

The restaurant is located in a side street in Gamla Stan. It's a small place and the tables are quite narrow but it's very romantic. The food is amazing and absolutely worth the price, although the servings are rather small. We had two starters and two mains for SEK 800. Fish and meat were both really good. The service was ok. We would always go there again!
