I stayed in this hotel for one night while being on a business trip with my colleagues.
Will keep it short to stress out my likes and dislikes.
I really liked: helpful and welcoming personnel; bath, iron and iron-board in the room; nice area around to have a walk (unfortunately some places are private, the others were closed, maybe due to the low season).
Please also keep in mind that hotel is quite away from the centre and there is nothing else to do or nothing else to go. For us it was absolutely ok, since we wanted to escape from the city noise.
What I disliked: we were told about hotel’s restaurant as a ‘must’, but were very disappointed with the food, service and prices there.
What to improve: it was not possible to state all the guests’ names upon booking via hotel web-site, so during check-out we had to correct personal data for 3 of 4 people.
I think it could be good to make a public computer equipped with the printer (although staff was very kind and helpful, and we easily solved the issue of printing).

The Stallmastaregarden Hotel was the highlight of our summer citybreak in Stockholm!

Our stay was last July, in the warm glowing months of Swedish summer.
(note: I'm not familiar with the more recent renovations cited in recent reviews)

Arrived at this waterfront hotel of classic charm, elegance and modest luxury and immediately.... RELAXED.
Set on a beautiful small calm inlet of the sea, with traditional and beautiful wooden boots dotting the shoreline that rose into wooded nature; the hotel is directly on the northern edge of the city center, so only a short 15min city bus ride to the central harbors and squares of Stockholm, with even walking possible if you prefer a 20-30min stroll down into the northern neighborhoods. However, the hotel also sits on a royal park that spreads kilometers northwards along the coast, dotted with former royal palaces and residences, greenhouses filled with butterflies, beautiful birds, joggers and people spread out on immense lawns and fields between wooded groves and pathways. We spent the first sunny warm day just walking the park, at once amazed, charmed and relaxed by the stunning natural beauty.

So relaxed and happy, unlike any other stay we could remember in our frequent travels, we opted to skip going into the city and instead take an elegant and luxurious dinner on the hotel's large terrace, overlooking the grassy park that rolled down to the stunning harbor 100m in front of us, watching sunset and white swans gliding across the water. Food was excellent and elegant (expensive, like most everything for anybody arriving from outside Scandanavia).

Breakfast is of high quality, extensive selection and served both in an elegant peaceful large dining room or out on the terrace overlooking the bay (in summer, if lucky enough to get a table!)

Room: Room was elegantly decorated, with high-thread-count sheets, modern artwork over classicly handsome wallpaper, and with spacious bathroom with marble appointments.

Other: In the gardens of the open hotel courtyard, little bunny rabbits hopped around under the flowers! Incredible. Where were we??, we asked ourselves, so at peace. The low-cielinged lobby indicates the true old-house nature of the building, walking under low door-frames.

We eventually saw a bit of central Stockholm, but wound up spending 75% of our weekend trip (our first visit to Sweden) at the hotel, so charmed were we by this hotel.

Highly recommend. Enables a "stay in Stockholm" while experiencing Sweden's natural beauty.

We only stayed one night at the Stallmastaregarden, when returning from a holiday in the far North of Sweden. We just wanted somewhere comfy, with a restaurant and good links to the airport for our flight the following day.

The inside decor the hotel is lovely, and our room was great with a super large bed. I knew there was a busy road nearby, but had no idea quite what this meant - we were overlooking a double level dual carriageway. It is very close to the hotel, to the extent you can't miss it and it really is a complete eyesore. This isn't the hotel's fault of course, but it is very ugly to have as a view, and you can't open the windows for long as the noise level is horrendous.

We ate in the restaurant in the evening having booked on hotel's website. We were informed that although we'd booked to eat at 9pm (we arrived evening time at the hotel) this was impossible, and it was only be luck that we had turned up 20 mins early and were able to order food before the kitchen closed. The choice was limited - 2 options for each course. I don't think there were any vegetarian options, but this wasn't an issue for us. Service was attentive and helpful.

As mentioned in other reviews the kitchen at the main hotel is undergoing renovation which meant that breakfast was taken in the restaurant. I would agree with other reviews that staff seemed disinterested and were quite inattentive. A conference (or some such) gathering was taking place in a room adjacent to the dining room. Someone from the conference opened this door, allowing everyone to look in and stare at us while we were eating. It was also very loud. We tried to get eye contact with the staff to no avail, and in the end got up and closed the door ourselves, which was them promply reopened and we got stared at again by the angry looking woman who opened the door. It was a bit like eating in a zoo. We were sat next to a curtain dividing the room, and as we continued to eat this was opened, as if to point out they would like us to leave.

Finally, the main reason I had picked the hotel was the close link to the airport bus stop - but we were told by reception that this had been removed (I don't know if this is temporary for the road works or permanent) and the nearest stop seemed to be about a mile or so away. In the end we felt we had no option but to get a taxi to central and catch the bus from there.

The park on which the hotel stands seems lovely, great for walks, and you do finally get away from the horror of the dual carriageway. All in all, I liked the look of the hotel interior but will not stay here again when we return to Stockholm.

We were in this hotel before and were very satiesfied with the room and the breakfast .
The room we had this time was clean and the quality of the bed was excellent.
The furniture for the TV as well as the wardrobe were in very low condition .
Most critic we have for the breakfast . Because of good kitchen and outstanding breakfast
we were choosen this hotel.
Its no problem for us that the breakfast room has moved temporarely due to renovation to another building .
But the service was unmotivated , nearly not seen .Used porcelin were not taken away from
the tables during we had breakfast ,the service didnt recognize that the tea water was out.
We and other guests had to inform .
Empty saussages , empty bacon as well as empty juice and fresh glasses were not filled up never the less there came more guests up to 9.45 .
Service in a youth hostel has been better .

Location is favorable - beautifully immediately north of Stockholm city center, with good connections to city and airport. Performance was only modest, as the hotel currently is being renovated.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the inner yard are relatively quiet.
