Stayed at this hotel with my husband for a weekend in February. We were checked in quickly if somewhat curtly and were requested to pay on arrival. not a problem but the receptionist on duty was not particularly friendly. My husband queried the bill as the price did not tally with the price he had been quoted when booking. The receptionist then quite rudely said that the given price was the cheapest they ever have. This considered, the hotel is overpriced.

The rooms are well equipped, clean and modern and therefore not very personal. Our first night was spent in a room facing inwards. The room was fine, but when we turned the ventilation fan off (because it was very loud and difficult to sleep), the room became very warm and stuffy despite the outside temperatures being well below freezing (-12 degrees C). The windows dont open in the inward facing rooms. The next morning I asked about this at reception and was told that the hotel doesnt have A/C and the only way to keep the room ventilated is to use the fan. We were offered another room facing outwards with a great view and this solved the problem for us.

The breakfast was fine but I agree with previous reviewers it was fairly average for this type of hotel. The best thing about this hotel is the location. Its next to the railway station, the ferry terminal and the centre of town.

Room Tip: Outward facing although these are more expensive.

It is very convenient, right next to the ferry/train station and on the main street.

The rooms are tired, with worn carpets and worn furniture. And the building is so close to the train/ferry station that if your room faces the station, you could practically spit on the train station's windows.

The lobby is an atrium with stone floors, so it is cold and quiet. Most guests congregate in the british pub that's just off the lobby. I did have lunch at the bar one day and it was quite good, but I did not try the breakfast.

For my next trip, I would definitely stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the city or the water.

The main thing about the Marina Plaza is that it could hardly be better situated - adjoining both rail and ferry services, so for convenience 10/10. However, for the hotel price points it really needs to up its game. The food and beverage side of things was barely average - and if staying more than a couple of nights the identical, limited daily offer might be a little off-putting. The hotel was udnergoing some refurbishment during my stay but this didn't really interfere to any extent. The rooms were very basic indeed (avoid those looking onto the station/ferry terminal directly) and the only saving grace (for some) was the free, reasonably stable WiFi throughout.

Room Tip: Overlooking the port, if not overlooking the square - avoid the rest.

A ok hotel, but nothing special. A bit overpriced compared to the standard.
Breakfast very good, and location next to train station very convenient.

Got a room overlooking the reception area. If you like to have the possibility to open your window, avoid this rooms :).

Room Tip: Aks for a room facing "out". Suites overlooking the harbor are very nice.

I've visited this hotel several times when working in Helsingborg. It is nothing extraordinary, but still good. Breakfast is very good, and the location is as central as it can get in a small town like Helsingborg.

Garage often full, by the way.
