We needed a hotel in Kiruna just for one night after flying in from Stockholm, then catching the train to Abisko the next day. Was travelling with my six year old son.
The Bishop’s Arms turned out to be an excellent choice. It’s centrally located and has a pub and restaurant on the ground floor. Our room was on the first floor and was clean, modern and very comfortable. In fact I would rate the bed a 9/10. We didn’t notice any noise from the pub below. We did have dinner in the pub and the food was excellent. Breakfast (a buffet), also served in the pub, was fine.
The building also houses a small shopping arcade which includes an H&M store – very convenient for stocking up on winter clothing. Also, the train station was within walking distance (less than one kilometer) which saved us having to catch a taxi on departure.
All in all a good choice and a reasonable price by Swedish standards. I found the best rate through Myhotelguru, but it’s always best to shop around.
