The best thing about this hotel is undoubtedly its central location, across the street from the station and the ferry terminal, and only a block away from the main shopping street. The service is also friendly and helpful. The rooms are pretty basic, but functional. Breakfast was nice. On the whole pleasant enough, just don't expect too much in terms of luxury.

We stayed here for a couple of nights recently en route to Sweden. The hotel is perfectly decent but a bit old fashioned and in need of some updating. The bathroom for instance was old and only had a shower curtain rather than a door. The wifi was a bit hit and miss too. The bed was very comfortable, the room was nice and plenty large enough. The breakfast was OK but the breakfast room was quite overcrowded and understaffed.
The location of the hotel is excellent, right next to the station and the ferry port, but as a consequence there was quite a lot of noise at night.
The staff were helpful and friendly and all in all I would rather stay somewhere like this than a bland chain hotel.

We stayed for one night at this hotel. The Receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. The rooms was quite small and so was the bathroom, but they were both very clean. The only problem was that our room (although looked to have been recently painted) smelled of stale smoke and brylcreem which really wasn't very nice at all. The breakfast was really lovely and there was plenty to choose from and it was replenished time and time again. All staff that we met were so friendly and kind, and we would stay there again as long as the room doesn't smell of stale smoke!!

Pretty basic hotel with small bedrooms and tiny shower room, but comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet was good range for the price. Our room overlooked the station and unfortunately was very noisy due to a large group of skateboarders partying in the street throughout the night. Don't know if we were unlucky or if it's a regular occurrence.
