“Well located business hotel near quays and little mermaid”
Reviewed 15 July 2012

This hotel is part of an Australian (!) chain of apartment hotels. The one in Copenhagen is located in one of the business areas, but close to the Little Mermaid (and little she is!) and the quay area where the cruise ships moor. It provides shelf contained apartments with a small living room and kitchenette. Overall, a very comfortable, clean hotel with attentive staff which is recommended for business trips and tourists (mainly in weekend as the hotel is usually booked during weekdays).

Room Tip: During weekdays, you should book early as the hotel is generally booked out in advance.

Dear Mr & Mrs,

Thank you so much for writting a review on tripadvisor.

Yes, we are part of the Australian chain Toga and very proud to work for Australiens.

The little mermaid is surprising small but I hope you saw more things in Copenhagen which impressed you.

If any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me

Best Regards

We spent four nights at the Adena. The rooms are equipped with a fully equipped kitchen, washer, dryer which made it ideal for us as we were two little babies. Public parking is marginally cheaper than parking at the hotel itself and I would recommend the Euro Park facility down the road. There is a supermarket in the apartment complex (Netto) which is open till eight most days except on Sundays. Staff are polite and helpful. The apartments could do with a more thorough cleaning and the cooking utensils could be of a higher standard. The bedrooms have curtains but are not designed to keep the light out which can be a nuisance during long summer days!

Room Tip: Unless you want a view of the square get a courtyard facing room which is quieter.

Dear Sakhlin,

Thank you very much for your review.
I am little concerned in regards to the curtains, due to in all rooms there is two sets of curtains, one which is black-out curtains and one thin white curtain, was that not in you room?

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me

We stayed at this hotel for five days in early July.

Regarding location, this hotel is in the port area, a five minute walk from the Little Mermaid. It is a 7-10 minute walk to the Osterport station. We walked to the downtown once or twice, it is about 30 minutes but we love to walk. Our friends had a car and they found parking very expensive around the hotel. So the front desk people explained to them where to park five minutes away to save money.

We stayed in the two bedroom apartment number 619 for the first few days, very large and comfortable. Very clean. Well equipped with kitchen and laundry. The only minor complaint is that the window of the master bedroom looks directly on the train tracks so it was a bit noisy once the morning trains started. My wife moved to a one bedroom apartment for the final two nights and she found it much quieter. But we would happily book the two bedroom apartment again, it was great.

Our children used the pool and the hot tub extensively. A nice room to hang out in, no chlorine smell (like in North America) and both pools were a nice temperature. So a big thumbs-up on the swimming facilities.

The workout facilities are quite basic: treadmill, rowing machine, elliptical and weights but no room or mats to do any yoga or pilates. But everything worked and it is clean.

We found the service great. For example, the day before arriving I called and asked about where I might play tennis. Maria said she knew there were places around and would do research. When I arrived she remembered and had printed out a list of possibilities. This was typical.

Indeed, wifi is only in the lobby, not in the rooms, but as someone else commented the lobby is a nice hang-out place.

Breakfast was very good. Selection is limited -- only two or three types of fruit are available on the buffet -- but what there is is of great quality. Eggs, bacon, etc. are on the buffet and are fine. I tend to be a coffee snob and I found the coffee great.

Regarding value, everything in Denmark tends to be expensive. But when I compared the Adina to other hotels I found it reasonable - but of course it is less centrally located than the others.

So I enjoyed the Adina and will definitely consider staying there or at one of their other properties.

The Hotel is well situated close to Østerport Station, although even this is a bit far to walk in the rain. The kitchen's perhaps aren't widely used, because we found ours under equipped and lacking dishwasher tablets. The breakfast was great. Bed's are great, view was nice from the 8th floor. Having said all of this, service wasn't their strong point, but compared to the Radisson Blu Falconer, the Adina was a giant step up, for the same price.

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend trip. It was quite easy to get to. We took a train directly from the airport to Osterport station, it took about 20 minutes. The walk from the station to the hotel was a bit of a drag though. We have previously stayed in hotels which are about 10 minutes walk to the station before, but this a very non-scenic route and it was on a main street so it felt like it took longer. To get to the central area it takes about 30 minutes walk, so it is not the best if you want to be in the middle of the action. Though if you take a train it is only 2 stops away. The Little Mermaid is quite a close walk from the hotel though.

There is a pool and gym in the hotel but we didn't use these facilities so I can't comment. When we got into the room, I was pleasantly surprised. The room is actually alot nicer than what I had seen in the photos. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and modern. There was an immaculate kitchen; cutlery, utensils and pots and pans were provided. There was an oven, 2 small stovetops, dishwasher and fridge. We didn't make use of the kitchen though, but we used the tea and coffee facilities. There is also a washing machine and dryer hidden in a cupboard in the bathroom as well. There's a small convenience store just downstairs and a couple of restaurants around there as well. Apart from that, there is not much more around the vicinity of the place.

The bedroom had a large built in robe with a full length mirror which was very handy. The lounge room was very well furnished with a coffee table, sofa, TV and small round dining table with chairs. The bedroom also had a door to separate it from the rest of the apartment which was handy.

There was free wifi in the lobby which I didn't make use of, but the lobby was actually quite a nice place to hang out in (unlike many other hotel lobbies that I have seen).

I found this hotel very pleasant to stay in and it felt very homely, in fact it was actually larger and nicer than my apartment that I live in back in London. This hotel is perfect if you are here for a long stay and want to make yourself at home, but if you only have a short stay here it may not be the best option. In saying that, I was here for 2 days and walked for the whole 2 days until my feet were sore. It just depends on whether or not you like to walk.

All in all this was very good value for money.
