I went to look into booking this B&B and their site says they closed in 2006! Looked good too!
- Free Wifi
I really liked this place. It's an apartment given over to use as a B+B (the people who run it live elsewhere in the same apartment building). The 3 rooms available are all decent sized and tastefully fitted out - there's a general black+white theme to the decor. The place seems to be kept scrupulously clean and breakfast was very nice (served @ 9am weekdays, 9.30am weekends). The bathroom/shower is shared so that may not suit some people, though I didn't have a problem with it.
Locationwise, it is a bit away from the city centre - though Copenhagen has a very good, integrated public transport system, so the centre is easy to get to. Admittedly, the location might make things a little more awkward for you if you've never been to the city before - I used to live in Copenhagen so it wasn't a problem for me & it was nice to have a little taste of (nice!) apartment living on my return. The location also means that (if you feel so inclined) you can explore some of the neighbourhood shops, bars etc. - and get to see a little bit outside of the main touristy spots.
Overall, if you don't mind sharing a bathroom and don't mind being a little bit away from the absolute centre of things then this is very good value for Copenhagen.
Also, when you arrive, note that there are no signs outside indicating "Bed & Breakfast Company" - just the names on the doorbells that you get with a regular apartment. However, once you book with them, you're provided with detailed instructions as to which doorbells to ring or numbers to call when you get there!
We were a family of four visiting Copenhagen for the 2nd time. The last time we spent a fortune on an average hotel, so this was truly a pleasant surprise.
The hosts are great, the breakfast is excellent and the rooms are clean and nice.
It is, however, a long walk to the nearest train station and the area is mostly residential.
The streets around the square are very nice though with many cheap restaurants and cafes.
Bathroom sharing is mandatory as the place is popular - so expect the other rooms to be full.
We have been to Copenhagen a few times before, and we thought we'd check out a new area. The room was really nice, comfortable, wireless internet was available. However, there is only one shared bathroom down the hall (between 3 rooms) which is not all that great, but decent. The place has a homey feel to it, we met some nice people. Breakfast is good. It's down the street from a nice square. It is quite a haul from the 'north' train station if you are walking and have many bags. So, it's best for people who know the town a bit and are used to lots of walking. Great deal though compared with other Copenhagen prices....
Also, they don't take credit cards - only cash. Which they didn't tell us up front.
