Great location, only a 10 minute walk from Copenhagen Train Station.

From the lobby area to the corridors and bedrooms there are nods to Danish design making it a very quirky and fun place to stay.

Each room is individually styled. In our room, storage was limited but perfectly fine if you are only staying for a few nights.

Friendly and helpful staff and the offer of a complimentary glass of wine when you return at night to enjoy in the lobby area.

Central location, outstanding staff, reasonable prices. I don't have any complaints about this hotel. It was like a small attraction in itself, dedicated to 1950s/60s Danish furniture design, and everything from the lobby to the layout was cozy.

Excellent choice. The hotel is a 3-star, and within this category, it is far better than I was expecting. The Danish design theme throughout the hotel makes it very interesting, not the usual chain hotel. Price, considering the average cost of hotels in Copenhagen, is reasonable. Our room was clean and welcoming. A big plus, people working there are very nice, especially the young lady in the afternoon, with a lot of passion and care.
So, if you like danish design and vintage, this is the place! We are already looking forward to visiting again.

I was there month ago , the staff was excellent and friendly , everything in the room was 110 % clean and brand new . About the location - it's 100 m from Stroget and 300 m from the Central railroad station. Money / Quality 10/10 . Highly recommend.

We purposefully booked Hotel Alexandra because we wanted an experience that was different from large global brands and; well, we did get that! The hotel prides itself on being quirky. So the good quirky - we 'pushed the boat out' and reserved the Verner Panton, a suite decorated in very bright colours. The sitting room was quite spacious with 5 chairs from Panton's design studio, and other lampshades and fittings from the 60's. The chairs were surprisingly comfortable. The bedroom was similarly furnished and the bed also very comfortable. We loved all the design features and information about design throughout the hotel.
The not so good quirky - the window in the bedroom only has Venetian blinds, very retro, but these let in the light early in the morning. So take eye masks if you are light sensitive. The bathroom (shower no bath) also took us back to the 60s! - very cramped and difficult to use. The shower had a curtain rather than plastic or glass sides so it was impossible to stop water going all over the floor. There is no extractor fan and the mirror gets steamed up - the only solutions seemed to be to open the window and let in the traffic noise and cold air. One evening we had no hot water and notified the staff who quickly brought in a heating engineer but it was not fully restored until very late that night. There is some background traffic noise from the road as others have commented but this subsides later in the evening. The real noise problems at night were police or ambulance sirens every few hours and no earplugs could overcome that.

All in all though an enjoyable stay and we would recommend it for 2-3 nights. The staff were lovely and very helpful, the restaurant next door is great for breakfasts but we ate out in other places in the evening.
