“Expensive with smelly carpets”
Reviewed 22 July 2012

The location is nice, just at the edge of Amager Fælled and not too far from the metro.
But this place is charging hotel prices for hostel quality! Because I am not a member of the YHA I had many fees added to my bill and charged extra to rent sheets.
The bedroom had a nice little table and two single beds but the carpet was old and smelled of feet. I was surprised to see carpet on the floor at all since Danes generally do nnot have carpet in their houses..
This is just appaling! Full of very young and noisy teenagers..
I do not recommend this place.

This hostel is noce enough. Clean rooms, pretty decent location, fairly quiet. We had a five bed room with a private bath, and there was plenty of room for us. The price was also right.

There were a few cons, mostly involving the staff. When we arrived, it was 11:30PM, and we had been traveling most of the day in cars and planes, and were very tired. There were a few pweple ahead of us in line to check in, and the poor young woman behind the counter was in training, and took forever to get everybody situated. I do not blame her, but her supervisor, who, instead of helping her, just kept leaving her and doinf other things. It took us nearly an hour to get in, even though we had already paid for our room when we made the reservation.

The other main issue was with the shower. The drain was very slow, and the design of the shower did not allow it to hold much water, so we kept flooding much of the bathroom everytime we took a shower. We did report this issue, but it was never taken care of.

Again, these are minor issues, and would definately stay in a Danhostel again, including htis very one.

Room Tip: Pay the few extra bucks for a room with a private bath.

Decents rooms - and not to small. In general good surrounding facilities, but the Kithen good be a little better equipped. The staff gave good guidance and had no problems with us using our own barberque.A little cumbersome to go to the city by public transport.

My family and I visit Copenhaguen with an excursion from my University. They had requested a family room for us (my husband, my 3-years-old son and me) but when we arrive they had a normal double room for us. The others room were full, so they gave us an extra bed, and we had to manage to put it in the very very small room. We slept very comfortable but there were no more space in the room for anything else than the 3 single beds.
The buildings are really nice and new, everything is very clean, but despite the common bathrooms it fell more like a hotel than like a hostel. I mean that it was more impersonal than other hostels we have visit. But depends on the people this could be an advange.
The breakfast was small, no many options at all, specially for vegetarian.
They allow us to use the kitchen to make dinner because we were a family, but nobody else in our excursion could use it. I was not clear for me, in general, who can use the kitchen and who doesn't.
It's about 20-30min away from the central station, altought the bus service is really good. But there is nothing else close, not a small supermarket or anything to buy food. If you need something to eat you must buy it at the hostel. Anyway we knew Denmark is really expensive, so we brought everything from Germany, so this was not a problem for us.
The bus from the central station costs around 25 crowns one way, so I guess if you're on your own it could be expensive going to the city everyday. For us with the excursion and for people traveling by car there is no problem.
It's true they charge about everything: towels, bedsheets, internet, breakfast, lunchbox, etc.
A plus is that they have great playgrounds...
Finally if you go with a small kid, ask for a room next to the bathrooms, our was the farthest one, and crossing all the hallway in the middle of the night to bring your kid to the toilet it's not nice....

Room Tip: if you go with a small kid, ask for a room next to the bathrooms, our was the farthest one, and cros...
