After a week of yummy traditional Danish food, we thought we would like something with a different taste so we chose Indian and chose the Cave because it was just around the corner from where we were staying.
It’s a basement restaurant but as it was too cold to sit on the street (they do have a couple of street tables) we were happy to be warm inside. It’s not garishly Indian but there were a few nice touches. The music in particular seemed to fit. Unfortunately for them, it was a very quiet Saturday night. We got there at 8pm and soon after the only two other tables finished and left and only a sole traveller came in after us. The lack of diners didn’t do justice to the food which was very flavoursome. We had a Butter Chicken and a Spinach Lamb with some rice and some naan and all were tasty and we left fulfilled. The waitress gave us the option of “how spicy” we wanted our food and although we like spicy, we prefer to taste the flavour of the food than burn out our tastebuds so we chose medium but as we could hardly taste any spice – lots of flavour though – we probably could have gone spicier. Service was not great for such a quiet night but that really didn’t matter because we weren’t in a hurry to be served or to pay the bill.
We left feeling that the restaurant’s food deserved to be recognized by more diners than it was on that Saturday night.
If you are in the area, drop in and have your tastebuds delighted.
