“Good place to stay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 April 2012

I tend to stay here on my many trips to Copenhagen.
Friendly place, quite modern, and small enough to give you an 'at home' feeling.
Rooms are indeed small, but if you want to stay very near the railway station all hotels are similar with their small rooms. Want something bigger? Go for the DGI Byen, also handy for the station.
Good brekkie, lots of choice. Especially the many great loafs on offer are great. Also cooked brekkies for the Brits.
The evening meal however has gone downhill. The hot food has dramatically shrunk in size, but you can have as many helpings as you want. It used to be more generous. Also the breads and the other offerings are not as good as a few years ago. I don't use the evening buffet lots, but as many people who stay here do and come for just the option of the 'free' evening meal, you should know about it.
But this hotel is still a very good place to come to.

Room Tip: Rooms at back are quiet, very quiet.

We have just spent 5 thoroughably enjoyable nights here. On arrival the booking process was quick with no fuss and the staff very helpful. The hotel decor is nice with places to relax and enjoy the free coffee. The room was a little on the small side but we have stopped in smaller. The cleanliness was second to none and the bed very comfortable with more than adequate bathroom facilities. We were at the front of the hotel and were slightly worried by previous reviews about noise and the strip club opposite. There was no noise intrusion and we had no trouble form the club although we didn't see it open during our stay.
The buffet breakfast was pretty standard fare for most european hotels though there was plenty and enough to keep you going all day. The hotel also included free coffee and tea all day and a small evening meal in the price which is very welcome in a city as expensive as Copenhagen.
Overall this is a very good hotel and I would recommend it, if we ever return to Copenhagen this will be the place for us.

For a two night stay, during a conference, this hotel was adequate and efficient. The rooms are small but the bedding is excellent. Internet is free.

The decor of the hotel is swanky wannabe boutique with extensive living rooms and a very charming cozy fireplace in the hotel's library. The hotel provides a computer station, a very full breakfast buffet every morning, and a friendly courteous staff.

The hotel's high rating on here is due mostly to the efficiency and some of the add-ons (like breakfast, cocktail hour, and so on) but not to luxury. There are other much more luxurious properties in Copenhagen.

The downside to this hotel are the tiny bathrooms. In some ways having no products in the bathroom is a good thing being that it isn't wasteful. However, presented with a shampoo/bodywash/soap all in one from a wall-unit is a little too stoic. The towels are like sandpaper.

From a location perspective the hotel is very close to the main train station, on the same block as a number of other hotels, and directly across from a nudie bar.

Currently the hotel is listed as a "Choice" property. However, it's ownership is somewhat in limbo. "First Hotels" is on the verge of either buying all "Choice" properties in Copenhagen or of selling to Choice all of the First hotels. The staff is somewhat concerned about their future given all of this.

Stayed at this hotel in mid-March and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and the reception area is nicely decorated with plenty of comfortable chairs and adorned with unusual ornaments. The standard double room was fairly small however it was perfectly fine and was quiet with a very good shower room.

The best thing we found about the hotel was the buffet breakfast and evening supper. The breakfast consisted of sausages/egg/potatoes/cold meats/cereals/pastries, all delicious and enough to keep you going most of the day! After spending most of the day out and arriving back about 7, there was then an evening supper which consisted of a small portion of fish or chicken or something similar, with potatoes or vegetables, also starters, plenty of salad, bread, certainly enough to fill you up. Tea and coffee were free, other drinks you put on the bill for your room.

There is also lots of information cards in reception area which give you discounts, one of which we used for the canal trip around the city.

It is centrally located, and only 5 minutes from the main railway station. I would recommend this hotel and if I ever visit Copenhagen again would happily stay there.

I am still staying there (checking out tomorrow from r.202) but really wanted to give a good word about this "value for money" establishment. I confirm all the good words and praises about this hotel aforementioned by pleased clients (good breakfast, dinner, location) and add to this the excellent hotel-pedia of all the people who work here and I came across. Polite, with good manners, always ready to help, smiley faces... add to the positive experience.
Price for Copenhagen standards is excellent considering that breakfast and dinner are included in price.
If only the rooms were bigger but that is not a problem when travelling solo... besides I dont spend so much time in hotel rooms except if I go for resting vacation.
I really cant find anything bad to say about this hotel and I am a pretty demanding person.
Train station only situated 5 mins away with direct connection to airport (10 mins or so) makes everything simplier.
Negative comments about red lights and prostitution around are just a big exaggeration... you have to be some kind of super conservative religious type to be bothered by this... which is not really so evident believe me.

All and all I would definitely come back and would highly recommend it to any kind of traveler...

Room Tip: get one on the back side and not on the street for securing a quiet journey... room 202 I was in is...
